At this point in time Zaviar was doing his absolute best to ignore what Madeleine and Lila were talking about. Mostly because listening to Lila seemed to be a surefire way to make him want to put his fist through a wall. First she talked right over his head and then she - why was it suddenly getting very warm? Smoke floated up in front of his eyes and before he could react he saw the flames. Instantly he dropped the monkey and cursed the fact that he had worn a buttoned shirt that day. But before he could even get the first one undone, the fire uncomfortable hot against his skin, it was out. And he was holding torn bits of material. Looked like his shirt had not been made to withstand any sort of intense heat. I need to invest in fire-proof clothing around this family. When Madeleine threatened to burn his clothes at least he knew that something good was coming after. 'I bet that Lila would like the same thing.' He. Was. Going. To. Kill. That. Dog.
"She ruined my shirt," Zaviar informed Madeleine as he tugged it off. It was ruined and he did not even need to undo the buttons for that to happen. And there was an angry patch of skin on his chest, bright red, that he knew was going to make Madeleine twitch when she saw it. He leaned around the elemental to look at Lila, face blank again despite the bit of pain and irritation. "I'm not the most polite person on the planet but this isn't the nicest way to say hello to your daughter's boyfriend, now is it?" 'Since when are you calling yourself that?' How many times did he have to make it clear that as far as he was concerned Knight did not currently exist? "And I would, Althea, but I doubt that Madeleine would be impressed with me. I thought it's name was Martie, though." Although, since the shirt was already out of the way, he hoped that Lila was satisfied. Zaviar had no reason to be ashamed of his body but he also had no reason to show it off in the presence of Madeleine's mother.
What is it with her relatives and me? Does this extend to all of them? If that was the case he did not want to meet her brother or her sister. Arching his eyebrow in a mimic of what Madeleine usually did he glanced at Lila again and voiced his thought from a moment before. "Satisfied?"
