Zaviar did not react to the flailing of the monkey, keeping his grip firm. He would release it only when he was certain that it had realized that he was serious. If that did not happen then he was debating using the clothes that the thing had on to tie it to the back of the door. When he was introduced, Zaviar nodded, though any pleasantries that he was going to attempt saying vanished when he saw that look on Lila's face. Now it was a look that he had seen before. Usually on younger woman closer to his own age and certainly never on someone who was the mother of someone he was involved with. Though that could be blamed on the fact that he did not meet the mothers of girls he dated. Because it was never serious enough for that. Madeleine was different, true, but generally there was a bit of warning before you were suddenly presented with them.
And he was certain that they were not supposed to look at you like that. 'And Zaviar is concerned because Madeleine's mother is looking at him like he's a piece of meat. Though apparently it's okay when she does that, or he does for her... but not for the mother... is that normal?' Zaviar was not responding to his familiar. Zaviar was pretending that his familiar did not exist right then. "I'm pleased to meet you, Ms. Gray," Zaviar said at last, shifting slightly. He wished that Madeleine had not left. And when the other fire elemental returned he felt a little better about being in her bedroom. His expression was still smooth, unruffled, but inside he was feeling a little stir of something he supposed could be called anxiety. He accepted his glass of water and took a sip as he sat down on the other piece of furniture in the room that was not the bed. He was not going to put himself that close to Lila of his own free will. Not after she had looked at him like that. His eyes did go to Madeleine. He hoped this was not upsetting her too much, not after the previous night.
