His smile turned a little more genuine. It was rare, these days, when someone wasn't so caught up in things like TiVo and the Internet and could actually, you know, use their brains. Granted, he did think that younger Azraels had it easier when he'd been turned, if only because there was always something else to watch at 4 in the morning while the rest of the world was sleeping. He just remembered having a small lamp and a big stack of books and craving scotch like it was no one's business. "Then you are a rare breed this day in age," he said, meaning every word as a compliment.
Grayson chuckled. Did no one think he had a life outside of the bar? ....Well, the woman he was interested in technically worked for him, and he knew what Eric had to say about all of that already. Grayson was still social by nature, and while the bar allowed him to interact a great deal more with people, it still wasn't the same as going out on the town himself. "Life can't be all about work," he said. "And when you've got as much time on your hands as I do, you learn to stay busy. Besides, I haven't been in Michigan that long, there's still plenty to see."
