With my hands open and my eyes open Who: Grayson Mudali and OPEN When: Late afternoon Where: Heme
The demons were back. Demons, and angels, and fae too, apparently. For as long as Grayson had been alive, there was still so much about this that he didn't know, and if he had his way he'd be sitting in his office watching CNN all day. Hasim had warned him once, shortly after he'd been turned, that he'd be able to see the world change so much over the course of his lifetime. Looking at it from day to day, the changes seemed so small, only noticeable when you pulled back to see the big picture. Today was one of those days you marked on a calendar and remembered where you were when you heard the news.
Still, he had the bar to watch over, and the people staying there, using it as a shelter. The moment Grayson had heard the demons were coming back, he set about preparing Heme to house whoever might need protection for however long they wanted to stay. Just because he'd done this three times now didn't make it any easier, though he was always heartened by those who chose to take them up on the offer. Heme really was one of the safest places one could be in Scarlet Oak, and Grayson would do what he had to in order to keep it that way, even if it meant killing another demon. He didn't want to, but he would.
Grayson came down to the end of the bar, ordering a glass of B+ angelic - ironic, yes, but needed at the moment - and looked out over the room again. His Blackberry was still in hand, as he was periodically checking it for news updates. One couldn't help him from being curious, and any information right now was good information. And hopefully, no one he knew would turn up on the next news bulletin, either. At least he knew Saoirse was around somewhere, and not encountering a demon of her own.
