We're only young and naïve still
Who: Lumi and Selphie
When: late afternoon
Where: the stables
Selphie skipped on her way out the door, throwing a hurried goodbye over her shoulder to her father as she made her way to her car. It wasn't anything special, as long as you didn't think a gun-metal grey '09 Corvette ZR1 was remarkable. The engine purred to life as she turned her key in the ignition, and she smiled. From the outside, you would think that there wasn't anything in this world that Selphie loved more than what money could buy. And yet, while she truly did love these things, she loved her family more.
Not just her father, and her brothers, but she also loved Lumi, who she considered just as much a part of her family as she did the others. She had always known Lumi, and the older woman had been very important when it came to teaching Selphie about what it was to be a woman. Sure, Lumi was heavily religious, but Selphie didn't mind. It was part of what made Lumi special. Selphie didn't exactly know what she believed, but she sure didn't mind it if other people talked about it with her. It was nice to see just how strongly people could believe in ideals.
Lost in thought, Selphie refocused on the task at hand: making her way to the stables. She wasn't very far away now, thanks to the beautiful machine she drove. Sure, it was going to get dusty from what the horses would kick up, but she could always run it through the car wash on her way home. Selphie pulled into the long drive that led to the stables, and parked nearby once she was close to the stable proper. Getting out of her car, she sucked in a huge breath of grass and horse, the strangely musty scent that she adored. She slammed her door and clicked the little button to lock her doors, the car alarm system making an adorable chirping sound.
Jogging her way to where Lumi kept her familiar, Nibbles, Selphie was all aglow. "Luuuuumi!"
