If I'm talking my words are mocking Who: Liliya and Naoki Where: Home When: Morning
Liliya was actually excited. It had been a long time since she had been genuinely excited about doing something. She got to escape from Scarlet Oak, from her duties, for an entire weekend. Maureen knew and had, reluctantly, approved and agreed to take care of anything that arose while Liliya swore that she would return if she was absolutely needed. If Scarlet Oak turned into a blood bath was what she considered to be a worthy enough occurrence. Otherwise she was going to be gone from all of this, from all of her worries, with nothing to do but take in New York City with Via. I've earned a vacation, the vampire reasoned with herself as she padded down the hall towards the kitchen. It was a little odd for her to wake up alone where once it had been the only thing that she knew. For years it had been exactly that, but now her bed seemed empty to her. Toying with one of the earrings that she had been putting on every morning since her birthday she smiled at her reflection in the mirror. Yes, she looked acceptable for the things that she would get up to that day and it would be comfortable enough for the plane ride. Acceptable without drawing too much attention. Flashier styles of dress would be left to Via. She was sure that the older Cyri would not disappoint her in that. And I don't even mind.
"Good morning, Snowball," Liliya greeted the dog as she entered the kitchen, going so far as to lean down and stroke her behind the ears before she took her usual seat. The newspaper was waiting for her. As was breakfast. How many vampires could claim that they had their meal so well-trained that it was waiting for them right where they expected it every morning even if they did not always show up there? 'Naoki,' she flashed. It had been awhile since they had been at the table together. Liliya had been busy with her work... and Via. Via had been more distracting, truth be told, and before that had been her birthday and various things. Naoki should be used to her absences by now. Which was why Liliya never felt a need to explain unless she had promised for this or that absurd reason that yes, she would be at home. Although vanishing for a weekend to New York was a bit different than closeting herself in the office or somewhere else in town. Slightly. Maureen had told her that she needed to tell him and, reluctantly, Liliya had agreed. Otherwise he might do something odd and attempt to come visit her in the office only to learn that she was gone on a vacation that he was not invited on. Definitely not. Him tagging along would ruin everything. There was a slight twitch of her fingers as she opened the paper, the briefest of thoughts having painted the image of him always ruining something. In truth he helped without doing anything. His presence was enough for that. His presence was, indeed, all she need. It was quite beyond her that he might need something else.
'I'm going away for the weekend. They need me in New York for something.' A roll of her eyes conveyed the general opinion that she did not want to go. With how little Liliya had traveled over the years it was an easy thing to assume that she did not like it, when really she had yet to formulate an opinion since she did not have the chance to. 'You'll need to water the plants for me.' That should actually go without saying. If Liliya returned after being gone for any length of time to discover that any of her plants were dead then she would not be happy.
