Lauren was laughing inside as she tussled with the wolf, rolling when they separated and coming up in a similar position - head down, eyes locked. And then one of the smaller wolves pounced the big one. She sat back, watched them nip at each other with a wide cat-grin on her face, then hunkered down when the smaller wolf took off. She glanced at the big wolf, her own ears perked up in answer, her short bobbed tail twitching.
In short? She was fast.
She was also much smaller than the wolves, only about twice as big as a housecat, but that didn't matter. Being smaller meant it was going to be harder to catch her. And it was pretty clear by now that the wolves weren't interested in hurting her. So with a sudden move, Lauren took off after the smaller wolf, claws digging into the earth for traction as she raced after the canine.
