"I thought it was sufficiently PC," Lauren agreed with a grin, the expression apparent in her voice even if he couldn't see it. 'Action' was better than any other, more appropriate adjectives like murder or evil fuckery. Not for the first time since coming here, she wondered what the hell made Scarlet Oak so freaking interesting to supernatural creatures. She supposed she included herself in that subset; for all that she was human through and through, she could turn herself into a variety of different animals, and that wasn't something the average human could do.
"I think I saw a place that showcases local art," Lauren said, wracking her brain. "I can't for the life of me remember what it was called or where I was, which I know is super helpful, but I'm sure you could find it without too much searching required. It's not like we're in New York or anything." Scarlet Oak was small. Not quite as small as where she'd grown up, but small enough, especially compared to some of the bigger cities she'd lived in. "I really doubt we have an excess of local art galleries around."
