Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
Who: Alexander and Lumi
Where: Alex's home
When: Night
Lumi had not slept since the nightmares she had woke up screaming from two nights ago. She had managed it thanks to general insomnia and a healthy dose of energy drinks. And also by not actually getting into her bed but instead hanging out with Nibbles in his stable. Cold and uncomfortable and very good for staying awake. Did mean that she smelled like straw but that was what showers were for. Though, as Nibbles pointed out, she needed to sleep. Anything past a full day and she started to drift off anyhow. Besides, delaying sleep was not going to make the nightmares go away. Years of trying just that had more than proven it. She just did not want to have them again so soon. All she needed was a friend who was willing to sleep over with her or let her stay over. She was not asking for a miracle or a whole lot here. Problem being that a lot of people did not have the same view of sleeping together as she did. And some of them were hesitant over sharing their dreams. Lumi supposed she could understand that since she did not want anyone else to see hers, but it was not like she remembered everything that happened in the world of dreams. Vague and floaty and they tended to slip away within only a few moments. Usually.
So when Alex had offered to let her stay over Lumi had jumped all over it. Alex was a good friend, his dreams were usually nice and he was all warm and very good for snuggling. After telling Zazriel where she was going - he showed no real surprised, having gotten used to his younger daughter's sleeping habits - and changing out of her work clothes into something way better, Lumi headed over. At least the rain had finally started letting up so she was not completely soaked through when she stood herself in front of Alex's door. Shivering a little despite her hoodie, she rang the doorbell and bounced up on her toes, biting at her lip to hold back a yawn while she waited for Alex or one of his siblings to get the door. Now why could she not have a family like his? Big and friendly. They actually got along with each other like she had always wanted to do with Viuly.
And there went the yawn anyway, slipping out when Lumi leaned against the doorway, eyes fluttering. Her back twinged as though to remind her of the marks that she had not really forgotten about. At least they were not bleeding so bad now; a shift at the hospital and a fellow nurse had been more than willing to bandage her up before she left. It could be amazingly hard even for her to keep a smile on her face all of the time when there was actual physical pain involved. Hopefully Lisa had done a good enough job that they would stay on the whole night without needing to be changed until she left early in the morning. One of the last things that she wanted was for Alex to get a glimpse of that.
