Quentin didn't want to leave - he just didn't think Jadyn was going to let him stay. It was hard, fucking harder than Jadyn probably realized, to sit here and feel like shit and not know how to help anything. How to make anything better. How was it that Kevin managed to make this look easy? Quentin wasn't good at relationships, this was true - in his personal or family life. Jadyn definitely fell into the category of family, at least in his mind, and they got along better than most of the people he was related to by blood.
That still didn't prepare him for what happened next. Not even that Bubbler started talking, he knew the familiar was there, but what was said. Suicide attempt - the marks on her arm were obvious proof of that - and getting bitten by a goddamn vampire. He collapsed next to her, falling from his crouch so he was sitting on the floor next to her.
"Jadyn," his mind was running a mile a minute, too fast to actually process anything he was thinking, and now his car keys came out of his pocket and floated around him. Because what would Quentin be without his telekinesis acting up again? "I don't want you to die." The words were whispered, but no less true. He didn't. He didn't like hearing her talk like this. Because he couldn't lose anyone else he cared about. Kevin wouldn't have wanted that for her and if his big brother wasn't here to step in for her? Then Quentin would just have to do it himself.
