All that time she was silent still Who: Elsie and Jasper Where: Out and about Scarlet Oak When: Late morning
All Jasper wanted to do on his day off from the shop was drive through the back roads with his windows down, music blaring, and not give a damn about anything. With a mixture of working - both the mechanic gig and the police department - and the weather bogging him down, Jasper felt suffocated. Like hell he was going to stay inside despite the rain. Jamie could sleep in if he wanted to. The other half of the McQueens was going to go out. And while the weather wasn't really worthy enough to roll down his windows, it was nice to stroll on down the streets in his car and not have a care in the world.
Though it didn't take long to be driving on the roads, enjoying the lovely foliage on the side when he felt his tire suddenly give out in the rear. After blurting out every swear he knew in the book, he slammed on the breaks and threw his car in park, only to slip on out to investigate what happened. Flat tire, just as he worried. Heaving out an irritated sigh, he kicked the curb before running his fingers through his hair. Just when he wanted things to go his way, Lady Luck had to fuck up his morning. .
Bracing himself against the car, Jasper tried his best to pull himself together and straightened out. It was then that he spotted someone jogging on down the street, heading his way. It wasn't that he was in dire need of help - shit, if the auto mechanic couldn't figure this one out, then fuck the world - but he wanted to be courteous and respectful and not looking like he wanted to beat the crap out of his car. So he nodded his head in her direction with a smile on his face before calling out to her with that usual Southern drawl in his voice, "Morning, ma'am!"
