The twins had already known there was something wrong with the animal their eldest brother picked up. While they were mostly entertaining themselves by rolling around on his desk, they were acutely aware when the small animal became a very big lady. Chloe sounded the alarm first, which was actually a series of high-pitched barks. Cleo followed suit with her version of a growl, which sounded more a toy car being revved but Julian's ears picked the sound up like only a person filled with paranoia about the safety of loved ones could. He sprinted out of the supplies closet in record time considering he was listening to the call he had taught his sisters for any time they were in trouble. (Crying was the cue when they were human, a distress signal they tended to abuse). As he saw that the twins were both staring in the same direction, his head popped towards the door, where a woman in scrubs was walking towards the door to his office. And the marten was missing.
"Hey!" Julian yelled, taking the distance between him and the retreating doctor at a run. He grabbed her arm and forced her to turn around and face him. "What did you do with the marten?" he demanded, brows knitting together angrily. He looked at the other doctor's face and realized he didn't recognize her. And he knew all of the other veterinarians at the clinic, not to mention he was often consulted when it came to hiring new people. Her scrubs said she was a doctor and not a nurse, though as he stepped back just a little bit to look at what she was wearing, the embroidery across her chest read J. Davis, D.V.M. which meant that the scrubs were his. "What is going on?" he demanded, entirely confused. He really shouldn't have been surprised when his adrenaline wavered a bit and he realized he could still smell the marten. The marten and the human that it had smelled of. Considering he was a were himself, he should have made the connection much faster. But she still doesn't smell like a wererodent. "...what are you?" was the next question out of Julian's mouth.
