Why isn't Gone With the Wind about air elementals?
Who: Cloelia and Nixie
Where: The river
When: Afternoonish
Humans by the water, ugh. That was what happened when you lived too close to one of their settlements. Which were practically everywhere the further inland you came and she still couldn't wrap her mind around the fact that Charlene liked it here. And she refused to accept that one of the reasons she liked it was because of that pink-haired girl. Penguin. Whatever she was, she had pink hair and Nixie associated her with hair pulling and kissing her sister. This place is full of strange people. Hunters who wanted to sell her off to the highest bidder, vampires who wanted to keep her in a tank that simulated the ocean, humans who liked to draw with their feet dangling in the water. But she'd discovered that they weren't near as likely to wind up in the areas of the river that were surrounded by trees. For some reason they didn't like being enclosed. Which Nixie understood, sort of, and appreciated. She liked being around the trees better anyhow and anywhere that was less likely to get her come across.
Unless it was by a fisherman. Because she'd been feeling a little snack-ish lately and the river's wildlife wasn't quite satisfying her. Been awhile since she'd had a good human and she figured that she could have one all to herself since Charlene seemed so adamant about her not eating of them. Strange fish. But until one wandered along, Nixie was content to seat herself on a mostly-submerged rock, upper half out of the water as she read one of the books she had found left on the beach. Humans really were the strangest things - she had thought that 'Gone With the Wind' would be about their air elementals and yet it seemed to have not a thing to do with them.
