Jay had certainly been very different from what Odette was accustomed to when meeting people from her country. Then again, she had had a rather difficult turning and unlife in general. Odette was not sympathetic at all because every child needed to grow up...but, still, not your typical guided fledgling. "Quite true. I did meet a rather lovely French vampire of the Styx family at Heme the other night," or...she believed it was the other night. She couldn't be sure anymore. Days were kind of blurred together and she really did not mind. "Val Devereaux, if you've ever met him. Almost a contemporary...though slightly younger." He was what she remembered France and the French being like. Class and charm, first and foremost. Everything else secondary. Nevertheless, Jay was young and people everywhere had started to forget their manners. It wasn't just the Americans. The French were also affected, sadly. Or...at least Odette had heard. She had not been back home.
Amongst other things, was Odette's playful response to Laurent's comment about beds. She had no intention of seducing him this evening or any other evening. He had been engaged when she'd met him...and in love ever since then. She didn't interfere with emotions like that. It got messy and she didn't like messy. "Liev has his own bedroom," Odette responded easily to Laurent's query. And he did. The spare bedroom was all his...Odette just left the part about his spending more time in her bedroom than his out. If asked, she wouldn't have been able to give a proper reason, especially as Laurent's intentions (and hers) were completely innocent. "Liev's a big boy who understands that some of us can just be friends and mean it," she smiled at Laurent as she led the way to her room. The glasses and bottles could be taken care of later.
