Shifted
Who: K-lee and Malo (NPC)
Where: Cherryblossom
When: Early evening
'I don't like moving,' Malo informed K-lee from his perch on top of the dresser. He looked like a sullen little ball of fur and she was certain that if it wasn't for the fact that it wasn't long enough, his tail would've been lashing. He hadn't liked her being cooped up in the hospital either but that was what happened when you got run over by a car and then beat by a pissy were. Because she'd figured it out thanks to Malo and Charlene. Roxy wasn't a human at all and that explained why she was so strong.
"You've moved once," K-lee pointed out as she started to arrange her clothes in the closet. Living in a motel for more than a month was ridiculous and she'd had it all-but guaranteed by Whisper that she was going to be staying for awhile, so why not get an apartment of her own? "This isn't near as big a switch as that was so don't whine at me. I'm not in the mood to listen to it right now."
'You're not in the mood to listen to anything right now. You've been sulky and snappy ever since Roxy hit you.'
K-lee glared at her familiar. "I'm pretty sure I've told you no less than a hundred times to not talk about that." Not only did it sting her pride but it'd actually hurt enough so that the memory of the pain stuck with her and she shuddered remembering it. People just weren't supposed to go around hitting people with their cars. Really she should've filed a report about it and sued Roxy for all she was worth. So why hadn't she? K-lee still wasn't sure, but something told her that she'd regret it. She'd rather take care of matters on her own. Some sort of a curse would be nice. The only questions were what that curse should be and who should she hurt? Because it'd been made painfully clear to her that Roxy was quite attached to Charlene. Hurt the mermaid and not only would she be hurting her, which she thought Charlene deserved for spurning her advances in favor of Roxy, but Roxy too. It'd be like a double bonus so clearly she should just go for Charlene.
Malo rolled his eyes and jumped off the dresser at her, claws digging into the front of her shirt until he arranged himself on her shoulder. 'You're going to get yourself hurt again.'
Like she cared. K-lee was currently focused on getting her revenge and that was way more important than what might happen after. She just needed to get the right curse. Could mermaids get sick? Probably. Brushing back a piece of her hair she plugged her laptop in and stretched out on her bed, moving Malo onto the bed and swearing under her breath when he just curled up on the small of her back. That little thing was far too clingy. Calling up her browser she pulled up a search directory. Scarlet Oak was packed to the gills with supernaturals so there pretty much had to be a magic shop. Her stores weren't just depleted, they were practically gone, and she hated searching for her own ingredients. Oh sure her mom would insist that they all go out gathering together and K-lee would always find a reason to not go. And thankfully there was a magic shop. Aeaea. "Looks like I know where I'll be going next."
'What, no more clothes?'
"There will always be clothes." But magic would be added in on top of it now. K-lee hadn't been able to practice in the hospital and her fingers were literally itching to do something. But it had to be useful. When she'd gone any length of time without whatever she did next, if it worked, seemed that much more powerful so she wasn't going to drain herself off with some little curse or ill tiding towards someone she didn't know. In the morning or maybe the day after she'd go replenish her supplies and maybe scan a few magic books to see if there was anything that she could make use of.
'And I'm going to go hunting.'
"And you can go hunting."
