"Gotcha. Ain't surprised though, been to sleepy little towns where everyone knows everyone before." Tifton, Georgia fit the description of that to a tee. It wouldn't be long until Scarlet Oak figured out who he and his brother were - keeping the "undercover cop" part of his identity under wraps might be a little easier said than done. But if he'd managed to pull it off in Tifton, and Atlanta before it, Scarlet Oak wouldn't be that hard. At least, that was what Jameson told himself. "Nice to meet ya, too," he said, toasting his glass in her direction.
He hid his chuckle behind a sip of his beer. "Don't get started about me and winter," he said. "We had snow once back home, when I was a little kid. Couldn't have been more than an inch and school was cancelled and everything." Not that Jameson and Jasper were planning on going to school that day anyway, but that was besides the point. "I refuse to believe that much stuff is real until I gotta clean it all off the Thunderbird. Not lookin' forward to that so much."
