"I've no doubt about that." And Garrick didn't. He was proud of Lex, as a father ought to be of a child, of the ruthless nature Lex had carried throughout the centuries. Sure, a kill count wasn't something one usually thought of when they listed things a child should have, but for a Shade, it was perfect. Garrick wouldn't have it any other way.
All these years, and no one ever had reason to peg Garrick as the lethal assassin he actually was. He liked to keep it that way, knowing it made things all that simpler for him when he didn't have anything to worry about but his reputation. He was definitely a man of two sides: the businessman, and the assassin. And when the assassin was out in full force, people had every right to fear for their life. "You do," he said, a hint of a smile coming to his lips - only to morph into a full blown smile when Lex grabbed one of the swords and launched himself at him. Oh yes, this was how it was done.
His brain knew it was just a spar, and he had no intention of hurting Lex, but that didn't mean he wasn't prepared. His own rapier was not on his person in that moment, but there were several daggers tucked into his clothing. Garrick ignored those, dancing back two steps to take one of the katanas off the wall. Not his usual weapon, this was true, but that didn't mean Garrick didn't know how to use it. He parried Lex's blow, then darted after him with one of his own.
