Studied all the rules, didn't want no part
Who: Val and Lex
Where: Ad Gustum
When: Late Night
There was no denying it: siren sex was some of the best sex ever. Val wasn't sure if it was due to the blood or not, but he really didn't care. Kumiko had earned her weight in gold and he didn't mind paying top dollar for the time he'd spent with her. After getting dressed and kissing her goodbye, Val stepped out into the halls of Ad Gustum, allowed to wander his way back down into the lobby. While he'd planned on speaking to the madam, that was a conversation that could wait till next time, since there would definitely be a next time. He wanted an opportunity to see who else was housed in Ad Gustum, since it was almost guaranteed to be better than someone he picked up off the street.
Well, there was a particular grumpy vampire sporting a bleach blonde and pink mohawk who could pass off as being picked up off the street at this point. Lex was still groggy from the aftermath of the schizo psychic blood binge. Then again, he was convinced that that's not what he took. He drank straight up psychic blood. Shut up. And it didn't help he couldn't look at his reflection, but whatever. Hair was not pink. Ever. The whores were just pulling another prank on him. Fuck them.
He was strolling around the hallways, just making sure everything was doing fine on the security end. Hopefully no one needed to be thrown out for abuse another woman or some stupid shit like. Really now, they were paying obscene amounts of money for some of the ladies - let them do what they wanted. As he took a corner, he stopped and spotted a man walking in his direction. One that looked familiar. Too familiar. After making a face, his blue eyes lit up and a wide smirk formed on his lips. "Val? Is that you?!" Wow, how long had it been? Years. If there was one son of a bitch he was happy to see stroll into town aside from Garrick, it was this guy right here. Finally, a man with some sense in his head. Such a rare trait these days.
Despite being told that Scarlet Oak was a hot spot of some sort, Val didn't really expect to see anyone he met there. There was a whole world for people to be scattered about, and only a handful that could live long enough for him to keep in touch with. Yet, there he was, running into an old friend in the middle of a vampire brothel. Well, maybe it wasn't so strange, considering the person and the location, though that didn't explain the pink mohawk. "Lex?" Val asked, eyes wide before he laughed and shook his head. "You crazy mother fucker. What the hell have you done to your hair?"
Oh good, it was Val. Lex never felt so relieved and happy in a long time. Granted, happy was a vague term when used by someone like Lex, but it beat bumping into Tanith again. The mention of his hair made him roll his eyes slightly. "Cut most of the length off. Whatever, it will come back." Oh yeah, he avoided the whole pink thing. He figured that going from chin length hair most of his life to a mohawk was a dramatic enough jump to the 21st century. Was the least he could do apparently. "Bloody hell, I didn't expect you to drop by in this hell hole." He finally caught up to Val and gave him a playful, yet rough pat on the shoulder. "I would like to think you stopped on by town for just the ladies here, but I know you better than that." A Styx in Scarlet Oak? Something was going down and with the recent news, Lex couldn't help but grin some more.
"I suppose it's the style of the day, but I'd have never pegged you to go with pink," Val grinned, returning the half hug. Despite the differences in their backgrounds, Val found Lex to be a decent guy, an occasional asshole, and a damn good killer. These were all positive traits when mixed, so long as they didn't rub him the wrong way. "I followed a beautiful little siren in," he said, looking back over his shoulder. "She's the only one I've met, but I love the idea. Can't wait to see what's behind door number two. Though, you're right, I did not get summoned to Scarlet Oak just so I could taste test the finest whores in the state. Too bad, though. I would love to do that for a living." Not that his house required a lot of him. It was only since the Light of May that they'd been having issues such as this. Val was just glad he was in the US and not somewhere stickier.
...really? No, his hair was not pink. Val had to have come out from one of the whore's rooms - hell, he mentioned the siren girl! - and she had to have let him in on this whole prank. Yeah, haha. Real funny. Lex just shot him a look, ignored the comment, and moved on. Not pink... "Well, you're more than welcomed to come back. Have quite an exotic bunch here and if you ever have any particular taste, you just let me know. I'll round some wench up for you." He loved how Val thought, completely agreeing with him on this ideal career, but sadly society didn't work that way. "That is, if you plan on staying in the area. If I were you, I'd leave, but I have business to attend to here." Lex rolled his eyes a bit, not really liking the idea of working for women, but the money was good and that was all the mattered. Greedy bastard.
"You work here?" Val asked with the raise of a brow. He was trying to imagine what Lex could possibly do in a whore house, but it was probably better to let it be told than have his imagination run wild. "I've been sent to find out who the idiot is that's draining people left and right. I'm thinking of removing their fangs. Or their right hand. You're welcome to join me if you'd like, but I've got to find them first." And that was the bitch of the problem. He had no idea who it might be and there were enough vampires in town to have a damn brothel. It made his job a hell of a lot more difficult.
"Mmhmm. Resident blood hunter, mate." Oh yeah, Lex was damn proud to show that status off. Better than being some lowlife hunter who sold on the streets like they were some shady drug dealer. This was high end in his book. Though the mention of Val's job? Oh, looked like they both had enjoyable careers. "Really?" He raised his eyebrows with a twisted, yet amused smirk. "You think I'd pass up on a chance to do that? You know I'd glad help even if there's nothing in it for me except pleasure." Lex let out a laugh, one that wouldn't make anyone feel comfortable, except maybe Val. "And if I were you, I'd start with the fangs. Maybe use silver pliers. I'm sure we've got a pair lying around here if you don't have any." Granted Lex was getting ahead of himself, but he didn't care. Oh good god, if he thought torturing with Domina was fun, that had nothing on doing the same deed with Val. These two could not be left alone.
"Nice," Val grinned, fangs and all. "This town needs a good blood hunter. And a place like this. Gives us options. You know I love a good slaughter as much as you do, but some fucker needs to practice a little restraint or we're all going to pay." He had no patience for careless vampires, and that was the only explanation he could see for so many bodies showing up in such a short time span. "Silver pliers would be a divine touch," he smirked. "I'll let you know as soon as I have a lead. I've only been here a few days, so there's still a lot of work to do." Tracking down the vampire responsible wasn't going to be easy, unless the fool was stupid enough to brag. He could only wish. "So, working here, do you get free samples?" he asked, nodding towards one of the doors. "Anyone in particular I should taste?"
A sigh escaped Lex, followed by a nod. He knew this blood-draining twat was going to screw up the market for him. Probably make more pussies go on off to Heme to be safe more than anything. "When you do have a lead, I'd love to join in, even if all I get to do is watch." Watching Val go to work was good enough, that was for sure. "Very seldom, actually. I have a reputation for having a nasty bite, so the ladies aren't too fond of that. Any drained blood we have on stock is also up for grabs for myself, as are the slaves we have." He paused as his eyes lit up. "Oh, you'll love them. Can do whatever you like with them down in the basement. Kill them off, if you like. I'll find more to replace them. There's an exceptional redheaded siren down there I fancy and as much as I don't mind sharing the ladies, that one is mine." There was a bit of a fierce stare in his blue eyes, though it faded away as he continued. "There are two angelic air elementals, too. Twins, actually. They do the whole burlesque and fetish thing quite nicely. Very submissive creatures, I like them. Though you seem to have enjoyed the Japanese girl, no?"
"Slaves?" Val asked, raising a brow. In Western Europe, slavery had largely disappeared by the Middle Ages, long before he had even been born, but he knew it had persisted in America into the late 1700s. Having never lived at a time or place where it was acceptable, something about it put a bitter taste in his mouth. Plus, it seemed lazy. "Doesn't that take the fun out of the hunt?" he asked. "If I'm going to take someone unwilling, I think I'd prefer to pluck them from the street. Personal preference, of course." He would see how others would be willing to pay top dollar for the convenience that came with using a slave. It meant not having to deal with the aftermath, be that body disposal or keeping the victim quiet. "You have your own?" he asked, smirk returning. "I don't know that I've ever seen you possessive of a lady. And to catch a siren... she must be young." His experience with sirens was that, the older they got, the better they became about protecting themselves. "I would very much enjoy meeting the twins then, but yes, Kumiko was... very much to my tastes."
"Good point," Lex nodded in semi agreement. The way he saw it, it meant he could have a second round with them instead of killing them in the first go or whatever. Kitty was a prime example of that. There was a slight roll of his eyes before he began explaining that, "The other workers here think it's cute to help her out just to upset me. As far as I see it, they have no business with her and can fuck off for all I care." Definitely the first and only time he'd be possessive of a woman. "And definitely young. All the stupid ones are young." He laughed at his own words for a second, then went on. "Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself. That means you'll be back again. Seriously, mate, I can't even begin to tell you how glad I am to have someone on the same wave length as me in this area. If there wasn't such a vigilance over the killings right now, I'd say we should celebrate and go out and find some helpless bunny for us to play with." Maybe in a week. That sounded good.
"You'll have to introduce us," Val grinned. He was curious about this young siren who'd caught Lex's attention. She might be his slave, but the fact that he kept her around made her quite the curiosity. Val had never known Lex to frequent a human woman more than once, as that would require him to keep her alive. In the cases where sex meant feeding, it wasn't always easy to keep control. Having just experienced this himself, Val knew it was possible with a little bit of effort. "No, now wouldn't be the best time to make the world our playground," he laughed. "Another time, perhaps? Besides, I'm quite satisfied at the moment." In every sense of the word. Val was ready to go home and crash, which was a rarity in itself. Kumiko had earned every penny of her payout.
For a second, Lex raised an eyebrow, intrigued at the idea that a siren had left Val, of all people, wanting more. Though the second he suggested another time, Lex smirked and chuckled with a nod. "But of course. You honestly think I would let you get away so easily after we simply bumped into each other?" He tilted his head to the side, clicking his tongue at Val, as if scolding him. "I believe we shall be seeing each other more frequently for one reason or another, no?" With a raised eyebrow, several thoughts raced through Lex's mind. Oh, the troubles Val and Lex could get themselves into. Like good ol' times. Maybe it wasn't a good thing that the two vampires were in the same town together, but Lex was happy as hell. This would relieve much of the recent stress in his life.
"Most definitely," Val said, laughing softly. "Even if it's just going out for a drink." It might take a little work, but Val imagined they could find someone who would willingly let them feed, so long as they didn't kill. He just had to keep in mind that it would have to be the ladies, since Lex had a thing against feeding from men. Val thought it a shame, but a century old habit wasn't something he was going to argue. "I'll be around." And he was sure word would spread before he knew it. When the law made it's appearance, people seemed to take notice. It could be a pain, but it also allowed for a great deal of fun-- fun that he intended to share with like-minded friends.
