With a heavy sigh, Ryan merely shook his head as he noticed the sarcasm in his little brother's voice. For once, he thought Liam might let whatever beef he'd always had with Ryan go, but apparently, not so much. In any case, Ryan wasn't in the mood to poke the fire - it was funny, for as much of a fire elemental Liam wasn't, the fire was there almost as much as it was in Bonnie or himself. That, at least, made Ryan proud. "All right, good." He finally replied, and at least tried to give Liam some sort of reassuring smile back, all the while curbing the wish to ruffle his hair or something silly like that.
The fact that Liam did look like a little kid immediately after that, mirroring Ryan's own worry, brought a lot of things back to Ryan's memory. The elemental straightened up, unsure of what to do next for a moment. "Yeah. Yeah, he'll come back at some point." Ryan assured, squeezing his little brother's shoulder for lack of a better way to show affection. "We'll be okay, all right? Trust me, just this once, we're gonna be okay." He added, the most truthful and compassionate he'd been in years.
As he heard his sister take a deep breath Ryan immediately turned back to her. There was a knot in his throat just from seeing BJ about to cry, even if she was mostly faking it. Call it brotherly instinct, he just didn't like it happening for any reason. Bonnie did make him smile at the hug she gave Liam, though, and might have been what prodded Ryan to wrap one arm around his brother's shoulders as they watched Bonnie get their little plan in motion. Even if all they did see, was Bonnie dart across the room and into the kitchen.
Looking down in the direction of his knees, Ryan sighed again, but didn't say a word.
