I'm the only one that sees you, and I can't do much to please you Who: Calista and Emily Where: House that Emily is "staying" at When: Noontime Warning: Violence
She was in the middle of finishing off the cupcake display at work when she received the call. No one ever called her at work unless it was an emergency and this was definitely an emergency. Usually those who seeked out a medium called her parents first and then the work load was given to her, but this time the client called her directly. It was a woman weeping in tears, saying that everything it the house began spinning on its own accord along with lights flickering on and off. She claimed her child had hear faint screams up in the attic and they were able to make out a name being shouted out.
Her own.
Calista had been dealing with evil spirits professionally for ten years now and this was the first time one had actually used her name. Apparently the client had tried looked up an exorcist and came across Calista's name. Of course Calista was going to help out, but she couldn't help but feel a twinge of anxiety eating at her. And close to nothing ever scared the girl. Once her shift at the sweet shop was done, she returned home quickly to change and pick up a few magical items and then was out the door to find this haunted house.
It sat on the edge of town, looking a bit rundown from the exterior. It didn't help that it was pouring outside either. Calista exited her vehicle, clad in appropriate rain gear, and made her way to the front of the house. The small family was standing outside under umbrellas, the poor child clinging her mother and crying her eyes out. "We don't know what's going on, but you must help us," the mother begged her, voice trembling through the thick rain. "Please, anything will do." The typical blank look remained on Calista's face as she nodded, then proceeded to go inside the house.
Once she closed the door behind her and shook her umbrella dry, she looked up and gasped lightly. Almost everything in the place was floating - dishes, books, furniture, appliances, all of it. Even the rug was hovering above the floor. There was a grandfather clock in the other room going off obnoxiously while one of the doors kept swinging back and forth, creaking all the while. She felt a cold chill shoot through her body - a very unpleasant one. She knew that chill. It wasn't because the place was cold or she felt nervous. It was because this place was haunted by a dreadfully evil spirit.
This was going to be harder than Calista anticipated. Swallowing hard, she closed her umbrella and flicked her bangs out from her eyes. With several cautious steps forward, she examined the room, doing her best to avoid the floating and spinning objects. She wanted to see if she could find someplace to settle down and set up a magic circle for protection before she could properly exorcise the house.
