Who: Marisa and Coralyn
Where: Woods/forest/place of many trees
When: After sunset
The stroll from the place where she kept her things (not to be confused with an actual home) to a place sort of resembling adequate forest wasn't all that long. Considering her main means of transportation was her own two feet, the distance was no trouble at all. On her way out she had mentioned in passing to her dad that she was going somewhere and would be back eventually. Murderers couldn't make him take interest and he only grunted incoherently in response, his eyes never leaving the television of some Discovery Channel special. It was fine. Before she knew it he was out of her thoughts and she was in the woods.
Of course, Coralyn knew this place wasn't really the woods because she had seen forests before, seen the wild. This was captivity without fences. The trees were really more of a mockery but in animal form what did she care? The juvenile white and black creature ambled along silently for the most part. She stopped to bounce on snakes or stick her nose on suspicious looking spiders but went on her way after a bit.
The snow leopard stuck out like a lit Christmas bulb. It didn't matter that it was dark because there wasn't a white spec to be found and any trace of moonlight, star light, or light pollution from the city would catch her. That meant that good sport like stalking was out of the picture unless she found something old that had somehow managed to escape everything else that had better camouflage than her. It didn't discourage Coralyn from following a rabbit. It was easy to lose time doing trivial things like that, even if nothing ever came of it, even if all she did was follow it around trees and through brush.
