We're glad for what we've got, done with what we've lost
Who: Isaiah Williamson and Bradley Krasner
Where: The Owl's Nest
When: Late morning
Cooking was one of Isaiah's favorite ways of getting out any frustrations he had. Granted, flying would be better, but if he had to stay in his human form and go to work, making bread was the next best thing in his opinion. Something to do with his hands, not just as a way to keep him busy but to keep him from thinking too much. And making enough bread to feed an army definitely kept him out of trouble, as his mother would say. A few sheet pans were set up in front of him and he was busy kneading the dough, shaping it into little loaves that would then be lined up on each tray and sent off to the oven.
Looking up, he saw Bradley at the other end of the line, working on some dishes of his own. "Did you hear the news?" he asked, his tone a little drier than it might be otherwise. Perhaps Bradley had, if he'd been paying attention to the gossip mill that was working in the restaurant - Jace was gone again. His best friend, who left without so much as a phone call, just a note tacked to Isaiah's apartment door. Classy, really. Elijah had probably taken the news the hardest, if only because he'd been looking forward to hearing more stories about Jace's time overseas. The good news? Isaiah no longer had to listen to Jace hitting on Lizzy. Or worse, the things Jace would say about her when Lizzy wasn't around.
One loaf down, god only knew how many to go. Isaiah didn't mind the busy work, scooping up another batch of dough to knead and shape.
