Measuring a summer's day
Who: Bradley and Erika
Where: Berry Days Festival
When: Afternoon/early evening
This was something that Bradley looked forward to every year - the festival. Not only was it a walk away from his cottage, but it gave him a chance to put his culinary skills to the test with the daily challenges. Most of the time he was too busy at The Owl's Nest to even bother with the challenges, but today he was able to sneak in before work and have some fun with it. And of course the one day he went in, it had to be with the strangest ingredient - blackberries. Of course everyone was busy making pies and cobblers, but Bradley went a different route. He cooked up some pork tenderloin with a blackberry sauce and added a blackberry flummery on the side for a dessert dish. Hey, might as well. Everyone else was doing it.
He had just finished cooking up the massive batch for people to try out and was able to finally sit back and relax. From the reactions of the few people that stopped by, they seemed to enjoy it, which just made the earth elemental smile some more. And thankfully there was no one who recognized him from the Nest and asked why he wasn't working. Well, he would have to pack up soon and get to that, but until then, he simply relaxed. His thoughts were mixed with wondering if Eva would enjoy a plate of food saved for her and how Linnea was fairing after yesterday's... thing. There really wasn't a word to describe it. One of her daughters wished death upon him and another was more or less ready to call him father. At least Linnea made it far more enjoyable. Cooking at least took some of that stress off.
