I don't want to set the world on fire I just want to start a flame in your heart
WHO: Via, Liza (NPC) and other party folks (NPCS) WHERE: Via's stripped down New York apartment. WHEN: The night prior to moving
One of the few things Via made sure to do before she packed was throw one last party at her New York apartment. She'd miss it here, that was certain but this was a change that needed to happen and she'd already convinced herself of that. As she readied herself for her guests she adjusted the shell belt of a budget outfit thrown together quickly before the party. Everything had already been packed and moved out at this point and with the exception of some tear down party decorations, Via was ready and set to go. For the evening she did manage to have one of her very favorite clutch bags and with what she managed to put together, she was quite proud. All ready fully running around the various staff she'd hired for the event, something the generous profits of her booming fashion career had given her room for, Via was particular OCD about every aspect of this party. The blood would be served up by only the vampires to the vampires and vampirism would be checked at the door, given a wristband and heavily security guarded the premises. As soon as her first guests starting rolling in, Via made sure to play the best hostess she possibly could, while still managing to run around and make sure everything was okay. The guests enjoyed the party as they always did, but what party ever goes off without a hitch, is a dull one at best. There was a name she hadn't expected to see find its way on the guest list, a Liza Mendel. Liza migrated to England when she was only a child from Israel. She herself had joined the Cyri in helping England give Palestine to the Jews. Unfortunately for Liza, moving to France was the worst idea possible as she was sent to a labor camp only months after she'd arrived. This was where Liza fell in love with Sylvia Cohen. At the time, Sylvia Cohen was a scared little thing, longing for shelter back home in the states, hurting and broken. Liza was her savior, she was her sire after all. Since their last meeting, it had been a long 40 some odd years since they'd seen each other last. However, Via had been completely unaware of her presence until she felt a small hand on her shoulder. She couldn't mistake that cold touch for anyone else's. As she turned to face the woman she'd spent 18 years with and offered a smile. For the moment, Via was rendered speechless.
“You look good..” she said quietly to Via, the words dripping from her mouth as she stared down at Via. Via had clearly changed, updated to the recent era. Liza looked the same as she ever did. Her long flowing hair dipped down past her shoulders and the skin as smooth and well kept as always. “You too.” Via's tone was hushed as she awkwardly stared down at her feet. If one had known Via in the past forty years, it was not an impression of awkwardness nor of shyness but to be around her sire, she immediately reverted back to her old behaviors.
Before the conversation could commence, a disturbance in the corner of the room diverged her attention as a verbal spout was beginning between a vampire and one of Via's poor mistreated assistants. She reverted her gaze back to Liza and smiled. “I'll be right back, please don't go anywhere.” she said before running off to try breaking up whatever altercation was at hand. It took some serious coercion and a few security guards to get the vampire out of her party, but once it was taken care of, Via sighed and grabbed a glass of blood.
Only one thing was missing....Liza. Somehow without notifying Via, Liza had slipped out of the party. A frustrated sigh when she'd realized that Liza had in fact gone, Via sat down on one of the disposable chairs she'd gotten for the party and crossed her legs. She was glad that she was moving to Scarlet Oak, no more loud and boisterous events where she could be visited, no haunted by a memory of someone who was never around to begin with. Yes, she thought to herself, this was definitely the right decision.
