Move along just to make it through Who: Fable and Hap Where: The park When: Midday
Hap had taken awhile to recover from that hunting group with the demon and the children. The children most of all. He had been a cool customer for the entirety of the actual incident but after... after he had needed to go back to the high school where he had left his own children. Sure they were mostly grown now and not as appealing of a target for that kind of demon but they were still his. So he had spent a few days with them despite Denise's whining about taking up her space. At least Deangelo had appreciated it and attempted to beat him at video games. Useless attempts, but it had been funny to watch him try. Some sort of a father-son bonding experience that just needed to happen now and again. With Denise looking on and rolling her eyes like she always did.
But today everything had been returned to normal. Hap had gone back to working a regular sort of shift that was not crazy due to demons and random fires or other such nonsense that should not be happening on such a regular basis. His kids had been way too happy to see their friends and Hap had, however reluctantly, let them go. At least it meant that maybe tonight he could revisit the bottle and steer away from the dreams about Tanya. Shaking his head to clear those thoughts away he sighed and relaxed back against the tree that he had sort of claimed as his when he came to the park during his lunch breaks. A turkey sandwich lay untouched on top of his Pac-man lunchbox (yes, he had one of those, and endured regular razings for it) next to a half-empty bottle of Pepsi. Someday he would actually get around to finishing that and going back to the station. Maybe. It was a nice day out.
