Our aspirations, are wrapped up in books
Who: Uli and Fiona
When: 11AM
Where: Lenore Bookstore & Cafe
Half a week ago, Uli Donovan's brother Graham had told her that he was a fire elemental. Half a week ago he had introduced her to his familiar, Kismet and been thrown for a loop when she realized that she wasn't alone in her supernatural ability. As close as they were as family, being supernaturally gifted only reinforced the fact that they were weird and needed to stick together. The day after, her brother had been turned and the sleeping pills that she had taken did nothing to keep the pain of dying at bay that her empathic abilities had enabled her to feel.
Two days after that, the demons were gone, the sun was shining and Uli was on her way to the bookstore. Bargain Books hadn't helped her out when she'd gone searching their last week, although Hap's words had given her insight on a lot of things. Both the fire chief and her brother had concluded that to find real answers to her psychically charged questions, she needed to find a person rather than a book. But she close to give books another try before going out on a search for an empath or somebody that could simply mentor her.
That meant that today she was in Lenore Bookstore & Cafe browsing the shelves for anything related to psychic abilities, anything published in the last couple of months. Which made the job increasingly more difficult, because she had to open the books to find a publishing date instead of simply looking at the titles and flipping through. Hopefully, one of these days she would find something that would pick her up and not let go. She wanted to know more about what she was more than anything now. Sighing to herself, she shelved the book she was looking at, smoothed her long, purple skirt, and looked about the shelves. What next?
