Adam had never been one to handle emotions well. He could write about them, sure, but put him in a situation like this and he was all deer in the headlights, certain that oncoming car was going to smack right into him. Ronnie was a good kid - though she wasn't that much younger than him, truth be told, couldn't be more than a couple years - and he knew she had the best of intentions.
It was just so easily to overwhelm the poor guy, sometimes.
Taking one of her cookies, and taking a bite, Adam nodded in approval. "These are really good," he said, before continuing her conversation about dorm life. Adam had been there, not so long ago really, and he knew about living with roommates and the hassle that came with it. This, talking about a subject he knew of that wasn't related to his work, seemed to ease him a little bit, make him not quite as awkward. Seemed they could both use that at this point.
