“Kansas,” Brady let the state’s name come out softly, partially attributing it to the surprise of hearing that Hannah was from Kansas. “Yeah, I wouldn’t have pegged you for a Kansas girl. Not that there’s anything wrong with Kansas, of course. Never been there myself.” What was there to see in Kansas, after all? Certainly, Brady had traveled the country, the world even, but Kansas was not a stop on the Porter tour.
“I can understand the need to get away from your hometown, and state, though. I did the same thing. Left Ann Arbor for Cambridge as soon as I could.
