She let her eyes fall closed for a second with Isaiah close and a kiss on her cheek. Things seemed that much less bleak with the ability to speak returned to her, to speak and be understood, with Isaiah grinning with the same relief she felt.
There was still much to worry about, many to contact to be sure they were okay as well, but it didn't seem so doomed as she had thought in the time that she had sat staring at the shadowy body of the demon.
After thanking Adrie again, Raina agreed that they could use rest to recover, although something told her that the witch was going to resist the idea even as she smiled that tired smile of hers. While the Earth Elemental had never broken anything before, she at least knew that her ankle would be tender but heal in not too long if she iced it (as well as her shoulder). She could manage without draining Isaiah's mother any further.
When they took their leave from the attic, Raina needing just a little support from Isaiah to get down to the kitchen for a pack of ice to wrap around her ankle. There she was able to tell him what had happened with the monster of shadow and anger, and the intervention of the vampire, all in a voice that was considerably steadier than even she would have expected of herself. Later the fear she had held at bay during the attack would come in her dreams, but she was in no particular hurry to explore anything but a few deep breaths and a borrowed phone to check in on her friends and family.
