It was not the fact that Oma was speaking in his head that caused Isaiah to look up at the bear through the rearview mirror, it was the warning in the cub's voice. Isaiah's eyes narrowed a little, a little confused, and, if he was being honest, a little offended. It was not in Isaiah's nature to hurt anyone, not simply because he was angelic-blooded, but because it wasn't the kind of guy he was, or who he'd been raised to be. He didn't date often and Raina meant a lot to him; she was the first he'd trusted with his emotions in a very long time. She'd been one of the first he'd texted and tried to get a hold of when the news of the demons broke, and he was just as worried about keeping her safe as he was about his own family. And that, whether or not Oma realized it, was saying something.
The only thought he sent in the bear cub's direction was, I know. And it's going to be all right. I believe that. He had to, otherwise he didn't know how he'd get through the next few days, with the knowledge that the demons were back and someone he cared about had been hurt.
Pulling into his parents' driveway, unable to feel the magic around the building but knowing it was there regardless, Isaiah shut off the engine and let out a sigh. They were safe, though he could still feel the hatred and fear in his stomach, he knew they were in the one place where demons couldn't touch them. And, with the shadows of demons they'd seen on the ride over, knowing they could go inside and lock the door and heal Raina up was a reassuring thought - though not as reassuring as if she'd not been hurt in the first place.
His mother Adriana was standing in the doorway, blond hair moving about her face with the soft breeze, staring up at the sky. It took a moment for Isaiah to realize what she was doing - looking for his father. Josiah must have gone up to see if there were any demons nearby, and after a second he spotted the other falcon too. "Sai," Adrie breathed, coming over to greet them, her face paler than he'd seen it in a long while. "Thank goodness you're okay."
Isaiah jumped out of the car and went around to the other side, so he could help Raina into the house. "Got over here as fast as I could make this thing go," he said, opening Raina's door.
Adrie gave Raina a smile, already aware of the fact that the other woman couldn't speak in their language, and already working on the magic needed to fix the ailment. "Miss Scott - Raina," she said, "I wish you were here for a better reason, but regardless, it's good to know we're all here and safe." She cast another glance up at the sky, "We need to get inside. I've got everything set up in the altar room."
