Now is not the time Who: Kat, Otter and Snow family NPCs Where: Snow household - SOHS When: Noon
Otter hadn't slept in or anything, he'd gotten up not long after Oz went off to open the store to tend to his plants. In this sort of heat, humid or not, they needed even more attention. Otter wasn't the sort to let them wither up and die. Exactly the opposite and he was sure that if they did that then he wouldn't be too far behind. Letting his plants die was one of those things he was sure might be counted as unforgivable when he died. Just like his big brother having those muscles was totally unforgivable. Kat wasn't supposed to go around staring at him.
Not that you like her or anything right? Sitala questioned. She was uncomfortable outside now and had been for at least an hour, trying to convince Otter to go back in. She knew that the demons were back and had told the boy exactly that, but Otter didn't budge. Once his work was done he'd go in. Demons weren't going to get in the way of taking care of his plants, they weren't that important and it wasn't like one was standing right there or anything. That might have been a different story.
"I don't like her," Otter agreed. "Not like that at least..." He didn't think he did. Did he? She was pretty cute and close to his age and it was a lot of fun to hang around with her. But that didn't automatically mean that he liked her or had some sort of claim to her. "I'd have to think about it." Most people don't think about crushes. "Most people aren't me." Otter was too level-headed to just go flitting into a crush without a second thought. Just like a flower didn't sprout up right away even though he had planted a seed, he wasn't about to like someone just because they were cute and living there now. Even if she was totally in his house. "Okay, we can go inside now. Probably time to take Kat home before the Diaz's storm the place and demand to know why we're holding her captive."
