Chance shrugged. She couldn't really say she missed Irvine or her family, but she did miss Charlie. Charlie was a good, reliable dog and, now, there were really only her parents to take care of him. She smirked. "We had it all. The parents, the kids, the dog, the white picket fence and the soccer mom SUV. It's a safe place you wanna grow up in but then leave the moment you have any sense."
She looked at Harley apologetically. "Yeah, oops. If you want me to talk to your dad for you and explain the whole situation, I could?" she offered, question mark so very pointed at the end. She didn't really want to but she could. Besides, talking to parents wasn't really all that hard. "So you think we could run into the school before this thing noms us?" she asked, wondering if they could outrun a demon in a parking lot.
