Congratulations, you are now the property of Angeline Moriarty. Who: Hunter and Domina (and Hunter's familiar, Ulric) When: Noonish Where: Ad Gustum, dungeons
So the demons were back, which meant Domina was a whole world of unhappy. If it weren't for her stupid mother, she could have gone out to play! But noooo. She was marked enemy and traitor, and didn't dare step foot outside unattended. The saving grace for her mood had been Ancilla informing her that Lex had brought in her gift for her sister, and it was waiting in the dungeons. Squee! The day was not a total loss!
Before Domina would step foot in the cell, however, she had a few staffers shackle the boy (and his familiar) to the wall opposite the door. She was stronger than this boy, with magic at her disposal, but she wasn't risking anything. Once that was done, Domina let herself in the cell, surveying her little gift. Oh yeah. He'd do nicely. "Here's the deal," she announced, all business and belonging, "This will only hurt if you struggle. And if you struggle, you'll be separated from your familiar. Are we clear?" Angeline would probably decide to do that herself later, but oh well. Minor detail.
Hunter and Ulric had spent the better part of the morning in a cell, in a dungeon that obviously was somewhere in Scarlet Oak, but as to actually location he had no idea. The fact that anyone had such a place was horrifying enough, never mind the fact that they were currently in one. Hunter had spent most of the morning yelling through the bars all sort of things from 'Let me out' to 'You fucking assholes are going to regret this'. By the time the guards, as he thought them to be, had come to chain he and Ulric up Hunter had looked wrecked, It had been almost 48 hours since he had last slept and he was coming down from a high that hadn't been let close to the ground in months.
He had fought back against the guards and had grown more angry with Ulric who had just sat there and let them. When they had left Hunter had turned his yelling on Ulric, "What the fuck are you doing? Do you just want to let this happen?" Ulric had only turned and replies, 'I don't think at this point we have much of a choice.' They were words that Hunter loathed to hear, but he couldn't say were not true. Slumping defeatedly against the back of the cell, he was starting to wallow in self-pity.
As the woman spoke Hunter was about to start yelling at this woman, but instead he caught the look from Ulric. 'What exactly do you intend to do with us?' was the question Ulric asked, and to be honest it was the only question Hunter really needed answered.
The goat was the talker, huh? Domina wondered if it had given Lex any trouble. The idea was... extremely comical. She had the mental image of it headbutting Lex, and the frustration Lex would have felt, knowing he couldn't kill it without harming his target. How hysterical!
"Myself? Very little," Domina answered, regarding the goat as she spoke. She had a familiar too, so she didn't feel silly doing so. "Your human - witch or elemental, I can't tell - has been selected for a purpose in aid to a good, generous girl. His fate will be in her hands. I'm here simply to prepare him." With that she knelt down in front of Hunter. "I need your hand." She wasn't counting on him actually giving it to her, but she was willing to pretend he had a choice in this. For now.
Hunter was getting pretty annoyed with the fact that these people just kept saying he was for some woman. In all seriousness at this point he would just prefer her to get off of her butt and get down here and explain everything, and then let him go. The latter was of course a far fetched idea, but it was one he was holding onto for the moment as so far he really didn't see the point of any of this.
When Domina asked for his hand Hunter finally spoke to the woman, "Oh hell no!" Although he didn't know the ins and outs of everything in this life, he felt very vulnerable and would like to keep his limbs to himself.
Domina rolled her eyes and shrugged. "As you wish," she said, producing a small blade from her pocket and pricking it into his leg. Just a few drops, that was all she needed. No good wasting it. "Was that so hard?" she asked, as if this was completely normal. Balancing a few beads of blood on the edge of the blade, she stood and removed a small piece of paper from her pocket. What it was didn't matter, it was just something Angeline had signed her name to. Using the edge of the knife, she traced the letters, lightly chanting as she did so. She wasn't sure if she had done it right - it would have been better to have Angeline present, and her own blood involved in the spell; sadly, that would have ruined the surprise - but then the letters began to glow. Domina smiled. "Congratulations, you are now the property of Angeline Moriarty."
Hunter felt the prick and was completely unsure of what to do. He didn't see the point of any of what was going on, but that was only because he couldn't see the large picture because he was so tied into the fact that he had just been abducted. When the woman in front of him called him property, he was completely confused. "What do you mean property? And who the hell is Angeline Moriarty?" These were quite poignant questions and all Hunter wanted were answers.
Ugh, he didn't know the Moriarty name?! Idiot. Domina wrinkled her nose at the thought, but otherwise dismissed it. She was quite certain Angeline would punish him for that one. "I could tell you, but it's so much easier to let her answer that," Domina answered. More fun, too. "She should be with you shortly." And with that, she took her leave, letting the door fall shut behind her. He wasn't going anywhere.
