Danny gave a quick nod. He had worked on the high school paper. And yearbook. And if he wasn’t almost always involved in the court of the school dances, he probably would have taken a bunch of pictures at those things, too. “No, nothing quite that grand yet, just doing the campus’s newspaper.” Danny had heard that there were other organizations on campus that would publish some of his pictures in a bigger scope than just the paper, but he was hesitant to try them. Fear of rejection. Danny didn’t deal all that well with rejection.
“I cover what they tell me to cover, really. Sometimes it’s the games. Sometimes it’s when we have speakers on campus. Or demonstrations. Protests. It’s really not all that different from before, just an increase in frequency.” Not that he was complaining. Danny enjoyed taking pictures, and if he got to do it more often then he was content. Too bad the university didn’t have a photojournalism major. The paper was the next best thing. “But it was nice to know that I was the only freshman they had taking pictures.” Probably his proudest moment in college. Kind of pathetic, in its own way.
