He should have been offended b Day’s inquiry about his ability to make friends. Of course he made friends! A few. It was just… harder to make friends in college because classes were different, people could go to class in the morning, the afternoon, the evening. The schedule wasn’t the same. It was rare to have more than one class with the same person in the same semester. “I’ve made friends. But you don’t really have periods anymore. No lunch. No break. No after school.” Especially for people who had to commute. Not a big commute, but a commute nonetheless.
“There are some cliques, I guess… but it isn’t like high school, because it isn’t contained. Part of it might be because I still live at home. I bet if I lived at the dorms it wouldn’t be as… well, whatever it is.” He struggled to find the words to describe it. Danny wanted to go to college… but there was so much that he wasn’t ready for when he got there. “It might be easier if I pledged a frat, but I can’t really stand being around that.” He would have made the perfect fratboy. But no.
He gave a soft shake of his head, “Look, Day… I’m not trying to come down on college. It’s just… I don’t know, not what I expected in a lot of ways.”
