We've been searching high and searching low Who: Aetheria, Aurora, Barnabas and Diana Where: Local park When: Afternoon
Waking up to find Diana missing wasn't how Barnabas had wanted to start the day. The fact that she'd left a note saying that she was going to Scarlet Oak to look herself didn't help any either. Diana simply wasn't used enough to the modern world to be out on her own and he could imagine all sorts of things going wrong. Thankfully she wouldn't be too hard to find since he knew the general area to look so when he climbed out of his cab and focused he was almost positive he was going the right way.
Until he came up short in front of an ice cream shop. Diana wasn't there but he had the strangest feeling that... Turning, Barnabas walked into the shop and just stood there, focusing in because... yes. They were here. Not just one, but two. Two of them. The twins! It had to be, what other two would be together like that? "Excuse me," Barnabas said as he stepped up to the counter. "But have you happened to see two young woman in the past week or so? You'd remember them... very blonde, blue eyes, possibly dressed a little odd."
"Oh yeah," the guy who was standing by the ice cream remarked. "They were in here with this guy. Cheerful, pretty little things. Other guy seemed to have a stick up his ass." Barnabas didn't need the words, he could hear the thoughts rolling off the man and they were a little disturbing. But the mental images were right. Those were his girls and Barnabas almost started grinning at the thought of being so close to them. Said thoughts were tempered by the thought of why they might be with someone. They had been sold off.
Without another word, Barnabas turned and walked back out. Aetheria and Aurora! He'd thought that maybe there was one of them but both? That was more than he'd dared to dream about and he had to find Diana. She'd be beyond delighted about this and since she'd been so down lately without any success... he would find her first, then they'd go looking for the twins. Now where would his wife have wandered off to? Almost without thinking about it he started to pick up on the thoughts of the people around him, only ones that might deal with Diana though. A woman walking around in a Grecian-style robe did tend to create a bit of a stir after all and it didn't take all that long for him to find her settled on a bench in the park, tossing bread crumbs to the birds that had gathered around. "Good afternoon, Diana," Barnabas offered, kissing the side of her head before settling down next to her. Then, because he wanted to see the look on her face so badly, he added, "They're here. The twins; both of them."
