Welcome aboard.
Who: Domina and Calypso
When: Morning
Where: Domina's office
Calypso was dressed to impress. As if that were really something that could have been doubted in any way shape or form. She wasn't certain what a possible vampire fucker was supposed to wear, but she figured that the skin tight outfit she had on would at least give the right impression. She didn't look trashy, but just sexy enough. And that was what she wanted. Pen and notebook in hand, Calypso headed towards the office she was instructed to go to by Tanith. Here goes nothing. she thought to herself as she lightly knocked and pushed the door open when given the go ahead.
Flipping the notebook open, she scrawled a greeting.
Good Morning. I'm Calypso. Nice to meet you.
Once she gave the girl a substantial time to read the note, she held out her hand and gave her a grin.
Domina hadn't been very pleased to get a call from her assistant, interrupting the backstage after party at the concert. But when she heard it was about a mermaid? Well, that changed everything. That was more than enough motivation to get her out of bed and ready, well before first light, eagerly awaiting this little meeting.
The mermaid in question was impressive. She could think of many clients who would pay for her time. Excellent. Domina read the note and shook the mermaid's hand, finding the smell not nearly so offensive as the blood Trigger had been toting around. "Nice to meet you, Calypso. I'm Domina Moriarty. The pleasure is mine. Would you be more comfortable discussing business in your natural form? We could take this to one of the pools, if that would be easier for you."
Calypso grinned brightly and nodded. Not having to write would certainly be much easier for her. Toting around a notepad did tend to get old and being able to just speak to the woman would be so much easier, thank you very much.
Can I just leave this here then? she asked the woman, pointing to the notebook after Domina had the chance to skim over the words.
Returning the grin, Domina nodded. "Absolutely. Right this way, please." With that, she lead the way through the first level of the mansion. As they walked, Domina talked. "Ad Gustum has two pools, both indoor and outdoor. A necessity for Michigan weather, so I am told." She was managing not to say the word 'Michigan' like it was dirty and improper anymore, which was a plus. "I'll take you to the indoor one, much better for discussing business."
They had to pass briefly outside to get to the indoor pool house, which also featured a hot tub and sauna. Thankfully, the space was empty, and Domina didn't have to kick anyone out. Not that she would have hesitated. "Please. Make yourself comfortable."
Leaving her notebook in the office, the mermaid followed along through the mansion and Calypso listened as Domina talked about the pools. When she actually got to the pool, Calypso - if she could have made a noise - would have squealed. As it were, the mute woman merely stripped herself of her clothes, folded them, set them aside and hopped into the pool. Once submerged in the water, her form shifted back into what was natural and resurfacing, she pushed her wet hair away from her face and moved to the edge of the pool to better see Domina. "Much better." she grinned. "Thank you. It does get aggravating to have to write everything."
While Calypso hopped in the pool, Domina made herself comfortable in a nearby lounge chair. She still managed to pull off a dignified position, even whilst talking business with a mermaid in an indoor pool. What a fucking sight. "I can only imagine," Domina grinned. "That done... I'll hop straight into business. Tanith tells me you may be interested in a position here."
"Yes." Calypso said, nodding. "We met by accident really, but we got to talking and ended up on the topic of jobs and being a mermaid, obviously it's difficult to get a job, but if I want to buy things... human things, well, I have to have human money. But finding people that actually speak sign language or would deal with a person that can't speak or wouldn't, ya know, sell me off to a hunter is quite the difficult task. So she mentioned here. Asked if I'd be interested in meeting with you. I do hope that there's something that we could work out." She really hoped that there was something that could be worked out. The excitement over the thought of having a job hadn't gone away over the night, in fact, it had just multiplied.
Domina nodded her agreement. "She tells me she's informed you of what the job entails, and you had no objections. It's good timing on your part, and hers. I've recently discovered a client base interested in your kind, so on a hunch, I had several large tanks installed." In reality, a bidding war had started up over a mermaid on the black market, but Calypso didn't know that. "One in one of the bedrooms, and two of our entertainment rooms. Even the smallest of which could comfortably hold several of your side. Were you to take the job here, you'd have a room and bathroom of your own - while you may not require a bed, some of your clients will - and these can be redecorated to your satisfaction. Your clients will want to bite you, but you are perfectly safe. Ad Gustum offers full protection to all its staff, and we maintain excellent relationships and understandings with all of our clients. You'd work at an hourly rate, with the potential of making thousands of dollars a day. The mansion has a full staff, from housekeeping to a personal driver and everything between, which is to be used at will. We do work at the utmost discretion - meaning, outside of these walls, you aren't allowed to speak of this place and what you do for a living, unless it is to a vampire interested in your services. But in return, I am prepared to offer you the same deal I offer my sirens - we will provide your meals. I understand the merfolk delicacies, and if you make us aware as to your preferred specifications, my hunter will see you well taken care of."
It was like Christmas for a mermaid if Calypso had actually celebrated Christmas. As it were, it was the closest thing to Christmas she'd ever come across for herself. "I don't have any objections." Calypso assured the woman. "As far as I can tell it's like a 'you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours' sort of thing. You get business, and a mermaid to help that business flourish even more than it obviously already has, and I get money and a job and a room. I've never had a room. Or a bed, obviously, but yes, it's certainly something that I'm agreeable to. And as it would be completely insane of me to run around blabbing about this business to people who aren't going be clients, you have no reason to worry about me letting out the little secret. Besides, having provided meals is so much more easy than having to chase them down myself. I can't exactly drown a bunch of humans from the same town without people getting suspicious."
"Naturally," Domina agreed, grinning brilliantly. "It seems we have an understanding. If you're happy, I'm happy. You can start and move in at your earliest convenience, and I'll have my assistant draw up an agreement we can both sign. I'll make it known to my assistant that anything you request should be filled, and made sure you're given the grand tour."
"Marvelous." Calypso said, her grin just as brilliant as Domina's. "Perfect. Just let me know when and where to sign and I'll be there." she assured. "Thank you. For meeting with me. And for the job." she went on. "I really do appreciate it. I'm certain that you won't be disappointed."
"Yet another thing we are in agreement on," Domina grinned. Domina Moriarty was seldom disappointed. "I can get a key and a contract for you immediately." With that, she pulled out her phone, sending a quick text to her rather overworked assistant. The bitch was nothing if not efficient, however, and within minutes the woman entered the pool room, packet in hand. "My assistant, Ancilla," Domina introduced. In truth, the woman's name was terribly cliche and overused, so Domina had informed her they were changing it. Ancilla was a Roman name for a handmaiden, that seemed much more suitable. Domina signed the contract first, and Ancilla placed it and pen at the side of the pool for Calypso to read and do the same. "She will show you around, and anything you need should be directed to her."
Calypso nodded, asking the assistant for a towel so she could dry her hands enough to not wet the paper. After doing a careful little reading and finding the contract completely suitable, she signed her name. "I don't have a last name." she told Domina. "Well, I do, but you wouldn't be able to pronounce it or even understand it as a human." she smiled. "Hopefully 'Calypso' will do." she said as she offered the pen and the contract back to Ancilla.
"Calypso is just fine," Domina grinned. After Ancilla made it official and sealed the contract properly, Domina smiled triumphantly and stood. Damn, this was a good week. "Welcome to Ad Gustum, Calypso."
