Sometimes you break the finger on the other hand Who: Kai and Rigby Where: Music Go Round in Ann Arbor When: Noontime
Lunch time down at The Ark meant that a lot of the workers got together to take a trip to some fancy shmancy restaurant in the area, and while they always invited Kai, she just smiled and turned down the offer. Did they not realize she was a starving college student? Hello, she didn't have that kind of money! And she wasn't joking about the starving part either. The most she got was chicken nuggets with fries and a soda at the nearest fast food place. Sometimes she'd treat herself to a milkshake, but now wasn't the time for that. She had just been evicted from her apartment due to failure of paying her rent on time again, so all that money had to be stored for not fancy shit she didn't even know how to pronounce at some gourmet restaurant. At least she had a truck to store everything in.
Though she had wolfed down her food in a matter of minutes and still had a little under an hour to kill before heading back to her internship. What the hell was she going to do in the meantime? While walking down the streets, sipping on her soda on and off, she spotted a Music Go Round down a block and instantly perked up. Drooling over anything musical was good in her book, so with that in mind, she scurried on over to the shop to go check out the lovely wares that were on display.
It was nice to walk into an air conditioned building. Even in flip flops, shorts, and a t-shirt, it was too hot for Kai to manage. Heaving out a sigh of relief, her ears and head tingled with voices that immediately bombarded her. Most of them whispering, though on and off one would grow louder, particularly one that asked her if she knew where the nearest gas station was, to which Kai said, "...what? Why would-" And as she looked up and saw no one there, she just kept to herself and tried to ignore the conversations going on in her head, and proceeded to shuffle on over to the display of percussion instruments. Adjusting her glasses, she checked out the lovely Ludwig drum kit, along with matching black drum sticks. A smile swept across her face as she placed her soda down and picked up the sticks, then began smacking them together at a steady beat. Her hips were even swaying from side to side in time with the rhythm. Music always put her in a better mood.
