Your love is a deserter
Who: Austin and Bailey
Where: Ink Inc.
When: Morning
The morning was rather productive for the fire elemental. She was able to get two tattoo jobs done since the place was opened, though one of them was a simple black touch-up, so that didn't entirely count, but still. It kept the pink-haired girl busy and that was all that mattered. Once that appointment was out of the way, she cleaned up her workspace and then went to the front to relax until her next appointment at noon came around or until someone decided to walk in and get something done. Happened all the time.
Sitting down in one of the chairs by the window, she glared outside at the rain down pouring outside and scoffed while rolling her eyes. Rain made her even more miserable, not to mention it messed with her flawless hair way too much. With her coffee in hand, she took a long sip before digging into a bagel with cream cheese she brought from home. It was going to take a miracle of some sort to put Bailey in a better mood.
Austin walked in to the new shop, Ink, Inc., glad to have found a new job. He carried a huge ass cup of coffee in one hand as he made his way to his station. He passed a pink haired girl who was glaring out the window at the rain. Not having seen her before and knowing the shop wasn't open yet, so assuming that she was a fellow employee, he stopped and held out his hand in greeting, "Hi there. I'm Austin, the new piercer here." She was a cute girl with her tattoos and pink hair, definitely fitting in seamlessly at the shop.
Bailey definitely caught a glimpse of the hot guy that made his way into the shop, though was too caught up in satisfying her need for caffeine to even acknowledge him, though she perked right up when he eventually made his way on over to her. Looked like Dante did find some nice eye candy for the shop. Damn, and she was partially kidding when they talked about it. Her eyes immediately looked him over, approving of the tattooed man before easing back into her seat. She had no intentions of giving him the pleasure to touch her, even with a mere handshake. Not yet, anyways.
"Well, well, Dante wasn't lying when he said he'd get some fine ass piercer to work here," she smirked at Austin, then took a sip on her coffee. "Though honestly, I'm the only one here you need to know about. Name's Bailey and I'm the resident tattoo artist, so feel free to hit me up if you need touch-ups on your ink there." And from what she could tell, he had a lot, and Bailey had no qualms with getting to touch his body just to make his tattoos look that much better. "So I take it if Dante hired you, then you know your shit, right? Either that or you're masochistic and like being laughed at when you mess up." People with demonic blood tended to do that, so hopefully Austin wasn't keen on messing up any time soon, seeing there were two people in the shop with said blood.
Well Austin was hardly used to being called "some fine ass piercer" but he was definitely not complaining. Not since the compliment came from such a hot woman herself. Said hot woman wasn't taking his hand though so he dropped it to his side, slightly disappointed that he wasn't going to get to touch her. "I'll be sure to let you know," he assured her, barely containing a shiver at the thought of her hands touching his bare skin. "In fact, I don't think I have any appointments if you want to do something now."
"And yes, I'm a piercer and yes, I know what the hell I'm doing." So he was slightly defensive. He didn't like it when people questioned his skills. He was good at what he did...damn good even and he took pride in his work.
Of course Austin knew what he was doing. Dante would have laughed in his face and turned him down if he didn't, regardless of how hot he was. Though that was taking a back burner in Bailey's mind for she was focused on his offer of him actually do tattoo work on him now. She stopped halfway through munching on her food and blinking her brown eyes. Was this really happening? Well, had to be, because Austin was still standing there and waiting for an answer. A smirk curled up on his lips as she finally swallowed and replied, "Now? Seriously? Well damn, you just cut to the chase, now don't you!" She could get used to this real fast. It wasn't like she had anything better to do. Besides, the rain was starting to piss her off.
Wolfing down the rest of her bagel, she jumped to her feet and beckoned for Austin to follow her with the curl of her finger. She led him on over to what she liked to call her lair, but it was just a side tattoo room with a bunch of her designs plastering the walls. Placing her coffee down on the table, she flicked on the radio for some classic rock and looked over to Austin with a raised eyebrow. "Sooooo, what shall we work on first?"
Austin shrugged at her observation. "I know what I want." And yes, that could be taken in any number of ways. He was intrigued and more than a little aroused by her attitude and the fact that she was so freakin' hot. With that sexy beckoning of her finger, Austin followed her into her room and was immediately drawn to the artwork on the walls. She was good. She was really good. He felt immediately comfortable having her tattoo him.
By answering, Austin stood before her and slowly unbuttoned his shirt, his eyes locked onto hers the entire time. Once unbuttoned fully, he slipped out of it, throwing it into an empty chair. He ran a hand down his chest until he stopped at a faded rose tattoo below his bellybutton. Stroking his fingers over the tattoo, he looked down at it and replied, "This one. One of my first tattoos and it needs revitalizing." He glanced up at her, "You think you're up for it?"
Bailey just stood there, eyes wide when he pointed at the tattoo he wanted to get done. Oh yes, this was definitely happening. She was going to have to buy Dante some coffee in the morning for a change of pace as a token of gratitude for picking up Austin, because damn. The smirk on her lips just grew as her eyes flickered on up from the ink to his eyes and nodded. "Oh yeah, I got that shit covered, don't you worry. Have yourself a seat and I'll be right with you." Bailey patted the seat while looking over her tools and supplies, pulling her hair back into a loose bun in the process. "Soooo, tell me more about yourself, Austin. You new around here? Have a girlfriend or something?" Someone that I'll gladly burn down to the ground? Been awhile since I've done that.
Austin grinned at her expression and sat down, letting her do the ordering around for now. "No girlfriend at the moment. Let's see... Yes, I'm new around here. Moved here just a couple of weeks ago, actually." He watched her as she busied herself with setting up everything, trying to decide if he should tell her about Grace. Chicks either really loved that he was a daddy or it was an immediate turn off and he couldn't get a read on how this girl would feel. Deciding to bite the bullet, he forged ahead. "I have a five year old little girl named Grace who is the absolute love of my life. She's mad at me right now because I wouldn't bring her with me to work. But after we got caught in the fire at Dog Ink, I'm a little hesitant." He couldn't risk his daughter's life again and if the fire did anything, it reassured his overprotectiveness, which was kicked up into overdrive, much to Grace's chagrin.
No girlfriend was a good thing. Not like that would have stopped Bailey if he did have one. Though the whole thing about him having a daughter? Yeah, massive turn off for Bailey. Kids were just a burden that she had no intention of ever having. She was too selfish to take care of a kid, so thankfully she acknowledged that and stayed away from them. Plus it was kind of strange that he was single and had a kid. "What happened, did you get yourself knocked up and the girl hightailed on out?" Bailey joked snidely as she pulled a seat on over to Austin with her tools in hand, placing on her gloves and mask in the process. "Your kiddo is definitely better off not coming around if she doesn't like fire. This place isn't burning down anytime soon, not when I'm around, but I'm the next best thing, so yeah." And if he did bring the bring Grace on over? Well, wouldn't have been the first time Bailey gave a kid a frontrow seat of a personal firework show.
Wow, this girl could be a smart ass. "No, I got her mother knocked up and she died giving birth to Grace." Even after all these years, he still missed Lana. He'd truly loved her and was sad for Grace that she'd never know her mother. "She's not afraid of fire, not really... more the smoke because that's what we got caught in." Then what Bailey said started to sink in. "What do you mean you're the next best thing to fire?" Other than weres, he wasn't all up to snuff on his supernatural races so he had no idea she was a fire elemental, nor did he really know what that meant.
Bailey prided herself in being a bitch way too much and it showed. She didn't even bat an eyelash at hearing about Grace's mother dying. Instead she tilted her head to the side and said, "Well, at least I don't have to worry about a girlfriend getting in the way." There was a definite smirk underneath that mask as she leaned forward and snapped her fingers. Several sparks crackled before her before form a decent sized flame to flicker in her palm. "Only one level away from full mastery, baby, then I can actually be fire. Until then, I'm the next best thing." Closing her hand, the flame crackled away in nothing. "Don't want to be scaring your wittle girl, now do we?" Patting his thigh, she pulled in close with her tools in hand, preparing the ink while continuing. "No worries, I'm not letting this place burn down without a fight. Anyone who has the fucking balls to do that will have to answer to me, that's for sure."
His eyes widened as she snapped her fingers and created a flame in her palm. At first he didn't believe that it was actual fire and he extended his hand out enough to feel the heat before snapping his hand back. Wow, that was pretty damn cool. Grace would surely find it awesomely cool but he wasn't sure Bailey was such a kid person, so he would be keeping Gracie at home aor in daycare instead of bringing her hto work. "That's pretty neat," Austin said. Could this girl get any hotter? Really now. "I guess we all will feel safe with you here then," he said, a little sarcastically. He was a were, hardly a helpless guy who needed a girl to protect him.
Oh yeah, it was real fire. Either that or Bailey was really good with glamours, but seeing she was demonic blooded, she was leaning towards the first option. She perked up when Austin approved of it, flailing internally at the compliment. Some people were taken aback by her fiery abilities, but then there were people who thought it was cool, and Bailey was going to bask in that attention for all it was worth. "You bet your hot ass it is. Someone tries to smoke this place out and they'll be in for a big fucking surprise when they realize yours truly can command fire to do her bidding." And the first thing she would do was torch the fucker who thought it was a brilliant idea to take out Ink Inc. Yeah, over her dead body. "That and Dante would totally pimp slap whoever tried. We'd double team on that moron like it was our day job." She then reached out to tug his unbuttoned shirt open more, readying her ink and needle for some work.
While his were form of a dog wasn't exactly terror inspiring, he could attack and go for the jugular on some creep who decided to do damage to the shop. He wasn't someone that would need Bailey or anyone else to protect him. Although, he did feel better knowing that there were others around who could fight their own battles. When she tugged his shirt open more, Austin steeled himself for the first prick of the needles. With so many tattoos he was so used to it by now, not really even feeling any pain from it. What he wasn't so used to was being tattooed by such a hot woman. "How long have you been tattooing?"
Ooo, the attention was back on her! Perfect. "Oh, you know, a couple of years or so. Didn't some hardcore apprenticing when I came back from the east coast. Just came naturally to me, being an artist and all." Her brown eyes flickered up to him for a second before focusing her attention back to his tattoo. She focused on reoutlining the ink before switching on over to color. Was far easier that way for her. "I do a lot of freelance illustration and design work, so the whole tattooing thing is a version of that, I guess. Just love anything art related and it loves me back just as much." Because whatever she did just became a work of art on its own, like this tattoo she was touching up on. Hell, she was willing to make Austin a work of art, but one thing at a time.
"Oh, I'd love to see some of your work," Austin said genuinely. "I suck at art, thus becoming a piercer." He'd always loved the arts though and would definitely be interested in seeing some of her stuff. "Art loves you back, huh? Not modest at all, are we?" He had to give her a hard time, it was obvious that not enough people were around to call her out, so he had to. Of course, he kept a light, teasing tone in his voice as he was just teasing around with her.
"Never," Bailey replied with a bit of smirk. Too bad the mask was in her way or else it would have been evident. "If you got it, flaunt it. No reason to be ashamed of something you're good at, right? I just happen to be fabulous with art and it shows." Like how precise she was being with the tattoo work. She worked the needle like a pro, running her fingers across his skin to steady herself while going about her task at hand. "Maybe when I'm done with this I can show you some of my stuff! I do a bunch of freelance illustration and design work in my spare time. Always making sure I'm on top of my game. And what about you? Just stick to piercing?"
"My dad was a motorcycle junkie and I'm afraid it rubbed off on me. I have a pretty bad ass bike that I ride from time to time. Other than that, I just work and try to be as good of a daddy as I can be." Austin had to be, there was no one else to look after Grace. His parents were certainly not reliable and Lana's parents refused to have anything to do with Grace, so it was up to him. He was all that she had in the world. Austin felt his stomach flutter as she ran her fingers across his stomach. He was trusting her to do a good job and he hoped that her talent was as good as she talked.
A light gasp escaped Bailey while her eyes fluttered upon hearing about the motorcycle tidbit. "Really? I ride a motorcycle, too! Keep mine in tip-top condition, just like my tattoos." Her baby was so much fun to ride, so why wouldn't she pay attention to it? "I got a red and black Kawasaki ZX-14 Ninja. She's my baby. Got her as a welcome home present from my parents when I came back from the east coast." Yes, Bailey was completely turning the tables so that she was the center of attention, because hello! It belonged to her! That and she was ignoring the fact that Austin also mentioned something about being a good dad for his kid, but hell if she cared. There were way more important things to talk about than some brat.
