does this qualify as irony?
Who: Renard and Rowan (and npc familiar awesomeness)
When: Morning
Where: Aeaea
Rowan now knew, for future reference, Killer did not approve of this rain business. Not that Rowan was particularly thrilled about it either. She actually quite liked the rain - but as a person who depended on a bike as primary means of transportation... it was a little uncomfortable. Having the morning off, she had wanted to check out the new magic shop, and riding a bike with a rabbit in your bag was difficult enough. By the time she reached the shop, she was soaked to the bone. And Killer wouldn't stop bitching.
"Are you somewhere dry yet? Can I come out now?"
"Not yet," Rowan murmured lightly, still feeling a little silly about talking aloud to an animal in public. She chained her bike and hurried inside, lightly shaking her arms as she took a look around. "'Kay."
"FINALLY!" Killer popped his head out of her shoulder bag, and took a look around. "Ooh, nice place. I really like the vi-HOLY SHIT IT'S A FUCKING PANTHER." And just like that, Killer was back to being hidden in the bag. Because sure enough, there was an actual mother fucking black panther lounging near the counter. Immediately above said counter was a sign.
"Don't mind the black panther," Rowan read aloud, "It's my familiar." She blinked. They got a black panther, and I got a bunny?
"I resent that." Killer informed her.
Rowan grinned. Of course you do. You can come out, I don't think another familiar would attack you.
"I take no chances with things that can swallow me whole. I like it in here. It's my womb of safety. Don't fuck with the womb of safety. If you want me, I will be-"
The womb of safety, Rowan cut him off with her thoughts. Got it. The killer rabbit will be in his cave.
Damn straight.
Rowan smirked faintly as she cautiously took a few more steps inside, a little hesitant of the big ass black panther herself. "Nice kitty?" The panther nodded. So, so weird.
"Welcome to Aeaea," it said, its voice deep and female. "Do you require the assistance of my mistress?"
"Um. Thank you. No. I'm... just going to look around," Rowan answered, trying not to be completely wide-eyed. The panther nodded again, and after a quick look around, she hauled ass in the direction of magical books. She wondered how their selections would compare with Nevermore. She already felt a little guilty for going somewhere new. The problem was that everyone that worked at Nevermore knew her. And if she tried to buy blood magic spells, or even black, they were going to question her. Dorian would not approve in her switch of vocations.
And who could blame him.
