"One and the same, yeah." he nodded, opening the door for her. "She's ma-... my friend Gabe's girlfriend, I bet she'd be glad to see you..." he told her, looking around the place to see if he could see Clarissa in that ridiculous getup she had to wear to work in this theme restaurant, but he didn't see her and upon asking the hostess he was told she'd left already as she walked them to their booth by the window. "Guess we'll have to come back another time to tease her..." he grinned, sliding into the booth, only then releasing the girl's hand from his. He hoped there would be a next time, he was pretty confident there would be.
Haylee couldn't help but notice the hostesses little jealous look and she flushed a bit as she sat herself down in the booth, her fingers still feeling warm from where Trip's had been touching them. Already he was talking about 'next time' like he wanted there to be one and that had Haylee's heart all a flutter, barely able to keep a beat. "Next time?" she asked softly as she looked up at him across the table. "Next time makes me think of dates..." she admitted. "So um... is that... what this is?" Wishful thinking, sweetheart.
Trip didn't really notice the hostess much at all, then again, he never really had any of the previous visits to the restaurant. Not that she wasn't pretty, she just wasn't Trip's type of pretty, besides, his undivided attention was focused on Haylee - definitely his 'type'. "I'm gonna say... yes, I asked you to have dinner with me and I've already stated my interest in you... so, yeah, it's a date... unless you'd rather it not be...?" he responded, quirking a brow questioningly.
Haylee flushed a shade of red that was so dark her face felt hot when she lifted her hand to press her fingers to her mouth. "I um..." she mumbled, finally pulling her hand away again. "No, I don't... I don't want it to not be." she stammered. "Meaning I'd like it to be a date... if that's what you want it to be... but it doesn't have to be if you're just being nice. You totally don't have to just be nice..." she said softly.
