Either way, Garrick was pleased to see that Karine was still doing business, much as she had some time ago, back in England. Sure, the facade of Kevin Charlton had since been dropped, and Garrick would of course keep an eye out for any other sort of tricks. But, as business had been conducted as usual, to the letter each and every time, Garrick was more amused by it than anything else.
He didn't smile back, but one corner of his mouth did turn up in a ghost of a smirk. It was the closest he would come to actually smiling. Just like Garrick never really admitted to being happy, as it was an emotion he'd never actually felt, when he was alive or dead. "You as well, Karine," he said, returning the nod. "You do know how to reach me, should a proposition strike your fancy. I will let you know if I hear anything about your Whisper. Until then, safe travels." It was what his father used to say before the ships left port; Garrick had always been fond of the phrase.
