Some vampires Karine had known were a lot more forgetful than they had any right to be, so it was doubly comforting when she realized that old business contacts weren't. Nice to have put the small level of trust that was necessary for such transactions into the right hands. Or at least hands that were better than the alternatives. Especially when they can see right through the facade and pick out that I'm just the same. Only not dressed and acting like a man. Personally she preferred herself this way and it didn't seem to offend people. That they let show.
Of course, any vampire with a big company behind him had to be prepared for everything or else they'd not make it far. Living forever meant that they didn't have that bonus of human businessmen who knew that one day they'd just die. Wasn't the same for them. "Yes, I think we shall. Easier to discuss things." What things? Karine didn't even know yet but she was willing to go with the flow and see if there was anything to be set up. Scarlet Oak was her new home and, at the moment, she was mainly concerned with making sure that she'd be able to stay there comfortably.
