Goodness. Ada thought. This girl is so adorable. The thoughts ran through her mind when K-lee rubbed noses with her. Ada had never been involved with a woman as sweet as K-lee before. Those relationships had never lasted long enough to become overly affectionate, she guessed, but this was so nice. Of course it hadn't helped living so close to her mother during that time. The woman seemed to just know and go out of her way to ruin things.
"A little thirsty." Ada admitted, trying to banish thoughts of her mother. She pulled on K-lee's hand, tugging her in the direction of the winery where they could get a couple glasses with a possible snack. "A slow walk sounds perfect." She beamed. "I'm really liking it too. It's just lovely don't you-" and she was cut off by her phone buzzing and playing The Imperial March from Star Wars in her pocket.
She flashed K-lee an apologetic smile. She was embarassed that she had forgotten to turn it on silent. When she glanced at the screen and saw her mother's name she suppressed a groan, silenced the phone and stuck it back in her pocket for the call to go to voicemail. So like her mother to call her in the middle of something she'd so love to ruin. "Sorry." She said quickly. "So anyway, it's really pretty here, isn't it?"
