The previous day had been more than fun, but the morning left Aurora feeling a little down because the rain had stopped. She liked it better when it rained because of the strengthened bond between her and Aetheria. Having it and then losing it was like losing a limb. Or what she imagined losing a limb would be like. Since I don't know what that's really like I guess I can't complain, huh? Aurora asked Neveah. Knowing that staying in the house with nothing to do would just end up with her bothering Lexi again, possibly with Cookie Dough and Ae in tow, she had told her twin before dressing, going down and getting one of the drivers to take her out. To a very specific place. No more crossing streets after the other day when Angel had scolded her. Oh, he had been nice. Strange ideas but very nice.
Neveah, who was not that happy at being inside of a vehicle, clicked her beak in irritation and tucked her head under her wing. I'm only here to read for you, she informed the elemental. So that you can get what you want and then come right back out. Right?
Aurora nodded as the car came to a stop, slipping out instantly while Neveah flew over her head. "Just straight forward is the door, miss," the driver said, turning the car off. "I'll be here waiting for you to get back."
"Thank you," Aurora chirped. She intended on walking in, getting her treat and something for Aetheria of course, then coming back. She did not expect to be stopped by a voice telling her to go first. Man standing there with the door open, thought he'd get in before you got there. Neveah remarked, having perched back on the window of the car to the slight unease of the driver. Sorry, but there's no one else inside. Clear shot. Eleven steps about.
Aurora blinked and reached out until she felt the door and stopped, stepping inside. "Thank you," she said to the man, whoever he was, smiling brightly. He had helped her by holding the door after all. "You getting ice cream too? If you aren't you should! And with sprinkles because they make it taste better." She knew she was supposed to keep going and actually order the ice cream, but now she was distracted because there was someone there. Who had spoken to her. Way to get an air elemental off track.
