You make me smile
Who: Angel and Aurora
When: Morning
Where: Random street --> randomly equal coffee shop
Waking up to find the bed empty except for a playing Cookie Dough was not something that made Aurora feel all warm and happy inside. She could not even hear the sound of rain and the moment that she sat up Neveah informed her that Aetheria and Kiana had gone out. "Oh, well, I guess that leaves us alone, huh?" Aurora asked, reaching out to tickle Cookie Dough's belly for a moment before standing. She had learned the layout of their room quickly and finding the closet and an outfit was not too difficult... though knowing whether or not it made any sort of sense was beyond her and Neveah was absolutely no help. "Want to go for a walk?" Aurora asked her owl after she pulled her hair up in a ponytail. The owl gave a quiet hoot, she really preferred resting during the day, but agreed. She knew that if she didn't then Aurora would be stuck in the manor all day.
And so the two ended up wandering their way right into Scarlet Oak's downtown area. Aurora could not see the odd looks that were directed at the barn owl as it ghosted along ahead of her, sending back when and where she should turn or stop. It was almost like she could see! Only her head did not swivel about to take in new sights. It was nice to hear the sounds of so many voices. Perhaps it was all of the voices that distracted her because Aurora did not hear Neveah telling her to stop and not step out into the road.
It was a rare time when Angel didn't feel like spending all day inside painting and today was one of those rare days. So he got dressed, harnessed Annie and took a cab downtown so he could wonder about and see what kind of trouble he could get himself into.
And that trouble apparently didn't wait long to find him. Soon after he and Annie had exited the cab, Annie gave a sharp bark and took off running, dragging Angel behind her. "Annie!" he yelled at his dog, jerking back on the harness, which would normally stop her, but didn't at all this time. "Damn dog," he muttered, breaking into a run to keep up with her. Before he knew it, Annie had barked again and someone tumbled back into him. He let go of Annie and caught the girl, both of them toppling to the ground. Angel shielded the girl from injury and she ended up cradled in his arms and resting in his lap, totally unscathed.
Aurora heard something coming up behind her and Neveah was making a terrible racket as something crashed into her legs. Too shocked to say anything, or even cry out, Aurora went tumbling back into something. No, that was definitely someone, and she was being held by whoever it was. Neveah? Aurora gave her head a shake. It's a man with a dog on some sort of harness, looks as surprised as you. That was a car about to hit you, I told you not to move. The owl sounded irritated.
"Hello," Aurora said brightly, not at all fazed. She had not seen anything and, while ending up in some random guy's lap might have at least startled most girls, Aurora was used to being in a lot more awkward positions. At least they were both clothed. "Thank you for helping me out. My name's Aurora. What's yours?" It was not quite as bubbly as normal, but it was still more cheerful than most people would have been.
Angel blinked rapidly when the girl seemed quite cheerful, not to mention comfortable, in his lap. "Um, what just happened here?" He didn't move the girl from his lap due to being so dazed. Oh and apparently said girl's name was Aurora. "My name is Angel. And I didn't help - my dog did. I don't even know what happened." So what if his voice was gruffer than usual. He'd fallen and he hated falling. It only served as a reminder that he wasn't normal anymore.
"Oh, I guess there was a car coming," Aurora shrugged, ignoring the sharp comments from her owl about not taking this seriously. She was not hurt, this man was not hurt and so there was not anything so very wrong. He had not even told her to move yet. Eventually she would get up, but her legs were being funny. Maybe she actually had been a little frightened by what had happened, her mind just did not register it like her body did. "Angel's a nice name and I suppose I should thank your dog then. Where is it?" Reaching out blindly to try and find a dog would only have ended with her likely jabbing Angel in the face. That would be a poor way to repair someone who had been such a good fall-cushion.
She guessed there had been a car coming? And where was his dog? "You can't see her? She's pressed right up against me." And that she was, her body pressing into Angel, as if to reassure herself that he was okay. Her tail was beating a rhythmic pattern against his back and he was getting quite annoyed with it. "Sit!" he commanded the dog, hoping that would cease the tail wagging. Now his thoughts could move on to what the hell was happening. "So what you're telling me is that my dog saved you from walking in front of a car?" The gravity of the situation finally dawned on him and he immediately wondered if the girl was okay. "Are you okay?"
Aurora blinked. See the dog? She would have loved to be able to see the dog, but no, seeing was not something she had done on her own in her life. "I can't see anything," she informed Angel. Though she heard the command and the sound of a body sitting, her ears more sensitive than most people's for several reasons, and reached her hand out in that direction. Neveah muttered discontentedly in her head, which Aurora thought unnecessary. She wasn't hurt or anything! Don't get your feathers all ruffled, I'm fine. "And I guess so, yeah, your dog's a furry hero." There was not sarcasm in her tone, just the clear honesty of someone who honestly believed that. "Oh I'm completely fine. A little startled, I think, but not hurt at all." That was when she realized that she had landed on him. "Are you? I didn't mean to fall on you... hope I didn't hurt you!"
He was startled when she said she couldn't see anything. Angel's hands came up and tried to feel around, one hand stroking her hair (which was very long and silky, he thought) and the other finding her face and gently pushing the hair off her face. "What do you mean you can't see anything? Did you hit your head? Do you need a doctor?" His heart was racing at the thought that she'd actually gotten hurt.
"I'm not hurt at all and believe me, you didn't hurt me in the least." She might have weighed 100 pounds soaking wet, so no, she didn't hurt him at all. In fact, she felt kind of nice sitting there in his lap. She felt small and fragile and he felt this insane desire to protect her... but from what he didn't have a clue.
Aurora had always enjoyed having her hair played with and smiled brightly at having it stroked. The fact that it was some stranger she had only just met by falling into his lap completely did not matter. She worked at Ad Gustum and slept with vampires every night, really, like she would have any sort of problem with having her hair and face touched gently. It was just like having one of her sisters around. Only not. He definitely smelled and felt different. "Silly, I'm blind," she laughed. It was just how her life was and she had accepted that before she even knew what she was doing. "Doctors can't do anything for me and besides, don't know if I'd want them to. This is me. But I'm glad I didn't hurt you! I would have felt so bad." People were starting to stare, or had been all along, and Aurora was only aware of it because Neveah told her so.
Angel literally gasped when she said she was blind. "You're blind? Me too!" It was not something he was excited over, just amazed that two blind people had inadvertently run into each other. "I wasn't born blind though - it only happened a few months ago... I'm still adjusting." While he spoke, his fingers never stopped stroking her hair, feeling the silky strands between his fingers. She smelled good too, her shampoo giving off a distinctive floral scent and something that reminded him of the smell of rain. He stopped stroking her face though, his hand falling down to her waist.
Angel felt others looking but really it wasn't any of their business if he wanted to sit on the sidewalk and hold a young woman in his lap. Besides, she'd said that she was feeling a little startled from the fall, so he was going to give her a few more minutes before suggesting that they move.
"Really?!" Aurora's face lit up even more and she actually clapped her hands together, delighted. She had never met someone else who was blind, and definitely no one who had gone blind. That must have been a lot harder than just being born that way. Like how Aetheria had mostly lost her voice only a few years ago. That had been sad. But thinking on sad things wasn't really possible because Angel was stroking her hair and she was like a kitten when it came to that. It just felt so nice! Aetheria would brush her hair to help her to sleep sometimes. Can't fall asleep in the middle of the sidewalk, Neveah informed her. "Were you on your way somewhere? Don't want to keep you from anything because you're the one who helped me and all of that. Do you want anything in return?"
Well it wasn't exactly a clapping matter, but Aurora seemed to be a pretty cheerful person, so maybe that reaction was just from meeting another blind person. At least thats what he was telling himself.
And wow, was she like, propositioning him? On the sidewalk? Angel stared at the direction of her voice and blinked, not quite sure what to say to that. "I, um, what? No, I don't want anything. Well, maybe... would you like to grab a cup of coffee with me or something? I don't want you walking around just yet, in case you're still shaky from the fall." And well, that was as good of an excuse as any he supposed. Still, his hand never ceased it's motions on her hair, Angel quickly becoming addicted to the feel of the silky locks.
Angel moved to stand up and instead of dumping Aurora on the ground, he picked her up with him and once standing, he set her feet gently on the ground, an arm around her shoulders, fingers in her hair in case she stumbled or something. He felt around for Annie's harness with his free hand, ready to walk with her if she wanted to.
You're going to make that poor boy's eyes pop out, Neveah informed Aurora, sounding amused. The owl was very used to her by now. Perhaps more used to her having customers who actually knew what to do with her, but this was actually funnier. She was so telling Kiana when they got home.
"Coffee? Ugh, I don't like that." Aurora made a bit of a face as she was picked up and set back on her feet, smoothing out her shirt. Angel's fingers were still in her hair for some reason, but she did not feel a need to tell him to remove them. She would have rather he took her up on her offer, at least she enjoyed that and she figured that having her life saved was like being paid. The only problem is Ae's not here... That would be awkward. "But I'd like a pop or something! Can I have one of those? Not that you need to buy me anything... really, I owe you."
Ookay, no coffee then. Angel chuckled, very amused with this girl. She seemed so innocent, so sweet, yet her body felt so sexy against his. He tucked her against him and started walking. "Sure, I can get you a pop. And it's my treat. Can't have you buying your own drink." After walking for a few minutes and guiding Aurora along, telling her about cracks and curbs and such (the very definition of blind leading the blind), Angel smelled a cafe or sandwich shop. He turned them inside and let Annie lead them to an empty table. When the waitress came around, Angel ordered two pops and while the waitress went to fill their order, he leaned against the table. "So tell me, Aurora, what are you doing walking around without a cane or a dog? It's so dangerous!"
Aurora did not much care who was buying what, she loved getting treats, and pop definitely counted. Neveah ghosted along behind, tossing her own advice in along with that of Angel, who seemed rather fond of keeping her against him. The elemental, of course, thought nothing of it and was just as comfortable like that as she was when she settled into her chair. Her feet dangled a little off the floor and she giggled as she swung them, ignoring the comments that Neveah was giving from where she had perched in a tree just outside the window. "Oh, I have Neveah," Aurora informed Angel. "My familiar. She's an owl and has really good eyesight. I just didn't hear her tell me to stop because there were so many other voices around." And why would she have a dog or cane? The majority of the time she had Aetheria and that was better than either. Then the pop arrived and the blonde smiled to herself as she took hers and started to drink. Mmmm, sweet.
An owl was what she used to guide her along? No wonder she'd almost walked out in front of a car! "You still should have a dog or at the very least a cane. That way if you're distracted, a dog can physically stop you, not just warn you." He'd heard about familiars when they were all over the news a while back. "What are you? To have a familiar, I mean. I'm just plain human, nothing special about me at all."
Angel couldn't help but grin as she giggled and he could feel her feet swinging about underneath the table. She sure did seem to have a childlike innocence about it. It was really cute and endearing, especially since his world was filled with bitterness and anger most of the time.
"No, I don't need those," Aurora insisted, toying with the ice cubes in her drink. "Most of the time my twin's with me and she's better than anything else. Can't have a dog anyhow, we just got a kitten." Her face lit up and she fairly bounced in her seat at the memory of Cookie Dough stretched out on the bed when she left, toying with a little stuffed mouse that she had thrown to her. "And I'm an air elemental." She had never hidden that fact in her life and saw no reason to stop now. Especially since Angel had saved her and since he would not allow her to repay him in the only way she really knew how, she supposed that answering his questions was enough. "But only if I sing. Which I'm not supposed to do inside... or I'd show you."
Oh God, there were two of them?! "So your sister isn't blind?" That was good he guessed. He wouldn't push the issue, not if she felt like she didn't need a cane or dog... he just worried about her safety. He wondered why her sister didn't go out with her today and why she'd even let her go out with nothing but an owl. Seemed kind of irresponsible to him. Then again, he was hardly one to talk, leaving Annie at home almost as much as he took her out.
"I want to hear you sing," Angel said. He wasn't quite sure what an air elemental was, but she seemed to be getting better and better with each passing minute. "I play guitar. And I was an artist before I went blind. Still trying to do that but it's rather difficult." Not that she'd asked about details of his life, he just felt like telling her. And if he'd known exactly how she wanted to repay him, he would have drug her to the nearest bathroom, but even though he'd thought she'd propositioned him, he would never ever assume that.
Shaking her head, Aurora sucked a piece of ice into her cheek. "Nope, but she can't talk anymore either." Some would think that made communication between the two of them near impossible, but there had never been a day in Aurora's life when she did not know what her sister was trying to communicate to her. It was the advantage of being twins.
Aurora perked up when Angel said that he wanted to hear her sing. "The guitar is a neat instrument... string instruments are fun." Though her favorite was the flute because Aetheria played it along with her singing so often. "And if you're sure..." Aurora swallowed the ice cube, shivering a little, before she started to sing. It was Greek, she always sang better in her native tongue, and quiet, a breeze springing up the moment she started, toying with her and Angel's hair as it swirled around them. You can be such a child sometimes, Neveah informed Aurora as she toyed with the wind.
Wow, so her sister could see but couldn't talk? That was ... unusual to say the least. Before Angel could question her about it, she started to sing. It was a language he didn't recognize but her voice was beautiful, so pure. When she started singing, he felt a slight breeze wisp through the cafe and ruffle his long hair. "Are you making the wind do that?" Seeing as how the door was open, but it wasn't particularly windy outside, someone was making the wind do that.
To answer, Aurora had to stop singing, which made her sigh but she did do it. "Yes," she answered, taking another sip of her drink. "That's a little bit of what I can do, move the wind. You should see what I can do when there's a storm around." She could call up the storm herself, of course, but she did not like doing that. Rain and wind meant that she could be linked to her twin, but only if it was natural. If they called it up then it did not count, so they usually avoided it. "It's a lot of fun to be able to play with it sometimes."
Angel was awestruck. He'd been so sheltered in blind school during the whole Light of May thing that he'd never seen anyone actually use their powers. Well, okay, felt someone use their powers. "That's so cool," he proclaimed. "What language were you singing in? And you can only control your powers with singing? Which, was beautiful, by the way."
"Greek," Aurora answered. It felt so nice to sing in Greek instead of English that she did it whenever she could, preferred speaking it too... but that was not much of an option in America. People did not like it very much when they could not understand what you were saying. "That's where I'm from, Greece. And yeah... that's the only way I can do anything for some reason. Not everyone's like that." But Aurora did not mind at all, she liked that her singing was connected with her natural abilities. "I'm glad that you liked it though, some people seem afraid when the wind stirs up because I sing." Which she did not understand at all.
"Definitely not afraid of it," Angel reassured her, his hand searching and finding her arm and giving it a light squeeze. He wished he had some kind of cool powers like she did. Maybe then Saoirse would be more inclined to want him back in her life if he was more than just an ordinary human.
"Greece, huh? How'd you get to America?" Her accent wasn't heavy so he was figuring she might have been here for a while. He'd never really paid attention to Greek accents but coming from her, in her light airy voice, it was kind of a turn on.
Angel was touching her again, which made Neveah mutter again while Aurora had no real reaction. She was used to being touched in quite a variety of ways and something so simple as her arm was like nothing. As common as a handshake to others. "Oh, that's a really long story... my sister and I came here together because we were sold on the blood market," Aurora replied easily. There was no tremor in her voice, nothing to indicate that the fact bothered her. Probably because it did not. It was just her life and liking or disliking it would not change anything, plus her angel blood made her look for the bright side eternally. "Owner to owner, and now we're here. I like it the best. Are you from here?"
Gasping for the second time that day, Angel just shook his head, wondering who in the hell had taken these girls away from their lives and sold them in such an awful manner. Granted, he'd only known Aurora for a few minutes, but she seemed so genuinely sweet and almost childlike in her innocence, he couldn't imagine anyone wanting to hurt her. If that was even what they did on this blood market. It surely sounded sinister to Angel. But, to her credit, she kept her voice even as if it didn't affect her at all. "Wow, I'm so sorry, Aurora." He didn't know why he was apologizing, it wasn't his fault she was sold onto the blood market. He just had this overwhelming moment of compassion and those were the only words that sprung to mind. "Not far from here actually. I came to Scarlet Oak pretty recently however."
You've gone and shocked him again, Neveah informed Aurora. It seemed like a big deal to all of these people. "There's no need to be sorry," she informed him, playing with the ice in her drink again. It was a little luxury but one that she actually enjoyed. They hadn't had things like that a lot during the past years. "That's my life, I'm used to it. Besides, we're so pretty that the blood market turned into sex one almost naturally." It sounded almost odd to say that in her innocent voice, but Aurora did not think it odd. Stirring her straw around what was left of her pop, Aurora tilted her head a little. "Any reason you came here or just because?" She was always curious about that sort of thing.
Hmm, so maybe she had been propositioning him. Either way, Angel wasn't willing to take her up on her offer...if it indeed had been on. From the sound of it, it had seemed like her life was rather difficult and he wasn't about to add to it or become another unpleasant memory.
It took a few gulps of pop to collect his thoughts before he could answer her question. "There's a rehab for the blind near here. A school of sorts. I had to learn everything over again, so I lived there for a few months. I've stayed close by because I still go for outpatient occupational therapy." His voice was somewhat monotone as he answered her; he didn't like to talk about being blind. Although after hearing her life as of late, he could hardly feel sorry for himself, his blindness feeling like a small problem compared to what she'd been through.
"This new place? Do they take care of you and everything?" He wasn't sure quite how these things worked, but he couldn't just send her back out in the world if she wasn't being taken care of. While waiting for her to answer, he pulled his straw out of his drink and started folding it accordion style, just needing something to keep his hands busy.
They had schools for blind people? That was as much news to Aurora as the fact that kittens could be abused and unwanted. Not that she had ever been to any school of any sort so it was odd for her to think that blind people needed a special one. Though since he wasn't born this way I guess he'd have to adjust. It would be like if she was suddenly able to ... no, not really, she knew what things looked like thanks to the occasional link she shared with Aetheria. So really, she had no idea what to compare it to - other than Aetheria losing her voice. That had been a rather big deal for her as well. "I'm glad there's a place for you to learn things," Aurora said, reaching out to pat his hand. "No one should just go into things without knowing what they're doing." Even if she did it all of the time.
"Oh yes!" Aurora said quite happily. "Very good care. I get to eat whenever I want and sleep in a comfortable bed with Aetheria and sure, the clients bite, but they don't hurt us." It was the plural, naturally, Aurora almost always spoke that way when talking about things like that. "It's a very nice place and I like it quite a lot. They even let us wander the city."
Angel twisted his hand and caught her wrist so her hand would stay in his. Her skin was so soft and he couldn't stop himself from light running his fingers over her wrist. "Yeah, me too. Although, don't ever tell my therapist," he joked, winking at her. "I give her a hard time." He said that by way of explanation, as he was completely apologetic. Not liking the fact that he had to appear weak in front of his therapist and admit to help, he took that out on her.
Very nearly choking on his pop when she said clients, plural and spoke of she and her sister as if the did everything together... oh wait. Shit. Fuck. Angel shook his head hard to rid himself of them glorious mental images he had. Although he had to imagine all physical details, but damn, that wasn't too hard to do. "Well, uh, good then. I'm glad that you're well taken care of. Although, don't go wandering around the city without your sister or someone else again, okay? We can't have you getting hit by a car." He wondered about her sister, if they were close enough to sleep in the same bed with each other, why the hell wasn't she out with Aurora, keeping her safe?
This soft touching was very unusual to Aurora and it was a good thing that Angel could not see the confused expression that flickered across her face. Neveah did though, and if owls could laugh then she was doing that. "A hard time... as in a joking way?" Aurora asked, feeling slightly confused for a moment. But she brushed it off easily because she could hear a stutter in his voice and wondered why that was there. Was he unused to hearing about clients? Aurora knew that she had been too before she was sold into the market, but now it was what she did and she spoke about it like anyone did a job. She just happened to do hers with her sister, a fact that she knew many of their clients enjoyed quite a bit. Ohhh, maybe that's it. Angel would like that too. But he only saved my life, that wouldn't be fair to Ae.
"I only wanted to come out for a walk..." Aurora pouted slightly. Never once did she give a thought to things being possibly dangerous because her mind just did not work that way. "Aren't you glad you got to meet me, Angel? Even if you don't want me repaying you for it, I'm still glad I did." Aurora loved meeting new people.
"Well, sort of in a joking way. I'm sure she doesn't take it that way. And really, most of the time I don't mean it in a joking way. But in reality, I don't know what I would have done without her during this time." Angel didn't really like being grateful to people but he was definitely grateful to his therapist whether he showed it or not.
Hearing the pout in her voice, Angel scooted his chair closer to her and put his arm around her, cuddling to his side. "I know you did, Aurora, but it's just not safe to do that by yourself." Something about her was just so beautifully innocent and sweet and Angel wanted nothing more than to shelter her from the world she was in. It was such an odd feeling for him because he'd never felt that way before. And it only intensified when she kept insisting to repay him for saving her life. It made him sad for her that such an intimate act as sex was diluted to the point where she was all but begging a perfect stranger to have sex with her as a payment for saving her life. And it wasn't even him it was his dog who saved her life!
"Honey, honey. It's not that I don't want you - I just don't want it in that way. It wouldn't be special for you and it should always be special. You can repay me by being my friend...how about that?" It broke his heart to say no to her but at the same time, he just couldn't go through with it knowing he'd be just another guy and she'd forget it almost before it was over.
Something was definitely odd about Angel, and part of it was that he kept touching her in ways that really, only her siblings and parents did. It almost made Aurora uncomfortable, but she could not really stay uncomfortable because how could cuddling be weird when she was used to way more than that? You're being silly again, Neveah informed her. He's just being nice. People do that sometimes without paying you. Her owl could be odd as well, it appeared.
But he was odd with what he was saying. He had completely the wrong idea. Things like that were never special, they just were. She had gone and accepted that years ago, why would anyone want to ruin that view? It was the one she needed to have or she would have ended up nothing like she was. And people liked who she was. She liked who she was. "I like having friends," Aurora said slowly, not wanting to talk about what he thought was supposed to be special. Because that was just not right in her mind and it was going to give her a headache. "Thank you very much for the pop, but I think I need to get back to the house. I've got an appointment later and have to make sure the kitten's fed. But it was nice meeting you, Angel."
Angel immediately dropped his arm from around her. "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable. That wasn't my intention." He frowned, quite sad that she was rushing off. "Can I call you a cab?" He wouldn't press his luck about seeing her again. It was kind of obvious to him that he'd done something wrong, even if he wasn't sure what he'd done.
"I'm not uncomfortable," Aurora denied as she stood, feeling out to pat Angel's cheek before leaning in to brush a kiss there. And she did not think that she was, not really, just a little confused. She had not had a male friend in, well... years and the ones who she did had the same views as her. Like Galen. "Just trying to understand what you mean. And Neveah knows the way back, she'll make sure that I get there okay. Without getting run over by any cars." That last bit seemed important because of how they had met. "Maybe I'll get to meet you again?" She perked up a little at the concept, her sunny side shining through naturally.
Angel stood and petted her head, smoothing her hair. "Can I walk with you? One near death experience is enough." He took her hand and walked out of the cafe with her. No offense to her owl familiar, but she didn't do a really good job of keeping her safe earlier, so he was a bit doubtful she was up to the task this time. "I'd like that," he said to her asking to meet him again. "Do you have a phone number?"
He was holding her hand and walking with her. While some part of Aurora was wondering why another part was just delighted because Angel was nice to her and Aurora enjoyed it when people were nice to her. Who didn't? "Sure, you can walk with me." It was not like he would be able to see where she lived. "Oh... umm... no, phones and I don't get along so well." She and Aetheria had tried playing with one once and it had not gone so well. It seemed that she and electronics were not good friends. "Or anything like that. So, umm... I don't really know how to contact people." If he could have seen Aurora's face he would have known that she was completely lost on the matter.
Good, she was letting him walk her home. He made sure he had Annie on a firm grip since he would be navigating unfamiliar territory. And good thing Annie was good at finding her way home or he'd be shit out of luck. Angel chuckled when she said that she and phones didn't get along. He could see that, definitely. "Okay, do you think you can get away about this same time on next Wednesday? We can meet at Starbucks downtown?" He wanted to see her again, er well, talk with her again. She was so intriguing to him, so full of contradictions.
Aurora thought about his offer for a moment. She was not sure what a Starbucks was, but one of the drivers probably would and be able to take her... and she was sure that she could avoid a client in the morning. It was not as though she did not have a ton of time available every other time of the day. "I'd love to," she agreed, smiling as Neveah soared ahead. Luckily it had been a pretty straight shot so there were no turns necessary. "Could I maybe bring my sister? I'm sure she'd love to meet you." And then she would be able to know what he looked like. For someone who was blind she did like knowing these things. "You can say no, I won't really mind, I was asking."
Knowing that her sister provided a bit of comfort for her, Angel readily agreed, if it meant that he could see her again. "Sure, no problem... definitely bring her." If she could see him now, she'd see one of his rare genuine smiles at her accepting his invitation. "I'm glad I ran into you today, Aurora."
Positively beaming, Aurora squeezed Angel's hand and giggled. "Thanks!" She really did enjoy having her sister with her, Aetheria was a great comfort. Even if it would be interesting to see how they conversed when two were blind and one could not speak... I can speak for her like she sees for me. or something. "I'm glad that I met you today too, Angel, thanks for walking me home. Because Neveah says we're here." Stopping, she turned and leaned up to hug him before giving him a quick kiss. "Bye Angel, see you next week!" And with that, the air elemental skipped up the path and back into Ad Gustum, ready to tell her sister about her interesting little encounter.
