Could it be that the grass is always green
Who: Lizzy and Liam
Where: Her house to start and movies and dinner
What: Their first date
When: Seven pm
She'd gotten home from work at a little after five. Obviously her father knew where she was going for the evening, so when they drove home, he was grilling her on what to do, if anything should happen. He was worried for her, but then again, his beloved daughter had never really been on a date before. She was his angel and he was just doing what any father would do, looking out for his little girl. Even if she wasn't so little anymore.
Adriana was more understanding. She came in while Lizzy was looking at the outfits she'd laid out earlier, trying to figure out which one. She offered her an opinion, one she ended up taking as she put on the purple cotten dress. It was comfortable, pretty and she liked how it fit. How it kind of flowed a little from the waist. She looked pretty when she was done, hair gently curled. Looking in the mirror, she looked ready for a date. That didn't actually mean she was.
With time to spare before he arrived, she sat on her bed, debating on bags. She thought she should bring the book with her. But more than that, she was nervous. This was her first date, with someone she didn't know that well. And, while that was the purpose of dating, it didn't mean she was calm about it. He was attractive, very much so, and she liked him. She wanted him to like her too, to see where this was going to go. Biting her lip, she waited for him to get there, so she didn't have to think quite so much.
Anora was trying to calm her down, keep her mind on the positive. "He seems like a nice boy," she chirped. "He sent you very nice, appropriate texts. And you know you have people that will come get you if anything goes wrong. I wouldn't worry." Coming from a bird that had done nothing but worry in the past few days, she took that as a sign to at least try to relax.
Of course he'd been on dates, sadly girls didn't just hop into bed with you, well, most of the time. Even if they did he wasn't sure he'd mind if Lizzy didn't, he actual wanted to get to know her, this wasn't just a physical thing for him. Which, if anyone asked, he'd say was a lie he was only going out with her to get in her pants. And by 'anyone' he meant his brothers. Deciding to go casual, Liam threw on a pair of dark blue jeans, a t-shirt and a blue plaid button up over top. He didn't care what people thought of him 99.9% of the time, but in all honesty he didn't group Lizzy in with the rest of society. Her soft voice when she spoke and the way her eyes watched him all sort of made Liam feel awkward in his own skin, shaky and sweaty.
Revving up the engine to his car, Liam took a deep breath before pulling out and making his way to Lizzy's. He hoped he wouldn't have to deal with family, but sometimes it happened. He took a moment at a light to fix his 'charming guy smile' in place, it was a little shy and timid, just enough to put people a ease. Even if what was going on behind the smile was something completely different. Tonight though, he actually wanted to impress Lizzy and he was nothing but excited and nervous and found that the smile was a little more real then normal.
Making his way slowly to her front door, and standing in front of it, he cleared his throat once, readjusted himself and then knocked lightly on the door. He waited, his palms sweating and his heart thudding in his chest.
Josiah was ready, being a were, waiting for the sound of an unfamiliar car. He was the one who opened the door without so much as a call up to his daughter. He wanted to size up this date of hers. "You must be Liam. I'm Josiah Williamson. Please, come in." He stepped back and smiled at that young man. His intent wasn't to terrorize him. Not really anyway. But Lizzy hadn't had a date before. "Sit." Ushering the young man into the living room, he stood by the couch. He had a few questions for the boy.
Thankfully, both Adrie and Anora heard Liam knock. Both her mother and her familiar ushered her to the stairs, just in time to hear her father ask Liam what his intentions were with his daughter. Adriana cleared her throat and gave her husband a look. Josiah had the good mind to look at least a little sheepish. Lizzy, on the other hand, was now even more nervous about the whole thing.
"Hi," she said softly, walking over to him. He looked really good and he smelt amazing. All things she didn't want to say in front of her father.
'Aw, fuck,' Liam thought as the door was opened by a stony faced man he could only assume was Lizzy's father. Swallowing hard he smiled back at the man as he let him in. "Yes, I am and it's a pleasure to meet you, Sir," he said, holding out his hand. Liam made sure it was a strong and solid handshake, but not enough to arise any suspicion of the older mans behalf. He needed to make a good first impression, which wasn't a daunting task for Liam, he happened to be the master of good first impressions. Taking a seat on the couch, Liam sat awkwardly with an almost timid smile and a rigid back, he wasn't scared of Lizzy's father, not in the least but he wanted to impress Lizzy and that mean impressing her father.
He had just been about to answer Josiah when he heard someone clear their throat and looking up, Liam caught sight of Lizzy and stood up quickly, he smiled and a tint of pink appeared on his face as he took her in. The dress she wore, the way it clung to her body in all the right places... it really wasn't what he should be thinking about standing next to her father, but he was a teenager after all. "Hey," he said a little out of breath, still trying to get his head caught up. Liam wore a half smile now, his hands shoved into his pockets. This girl was going to be the death of him.
"Just be home by midnight." Josiah was trying to be stern, but the boy was obviously smitten with his daughter. That much he could handle. For the moment. Later, once they were gone, he would likely remember what he was like at that age, the things he'd thought about Adriana and where that had gotten him. For now, he was trying to be good. Probably because his wife was giving him that look and he liked sleeping in her arms. A lot.
"Daddy, I thought we said one in the car," Lizzy said softly, giving him her best innocent look. The one he was usually a sucker for, but not tonight.
Josiah shook his head. "Midnight. It's not that I don't like you going out, sweetheart, but you know what happened to your brother. We don't know what else is out there." Turning his attention to Liam, he was back to that stern look. "I would prefer it if you had my daughter home by midnight."
Clearing his throat and trying his best to look intimidated, Liam looked at Josiah momentarily. "I'll have her home by 12, Mr. Williamson," he said in a strong but still quiet voice. People were sort of a sucker for it, how could someone so shy and innocent be such a bastard? Tonight though he would be on his best behaviour, he didn't want to upset or earn the hatred of such a hot girl, swallowing hard he decided not to think about her like that just yet. Maybe when he was out of proximity of her father and mother, who also happened to be a bit of a fox. Fuck, Liam. Shut up. he thought to himself, his teenage hormones going a little wild at the moment. "And you don't have to worry, Sir, I'll keep her safe." he said, before turning away and making his way to the door. Hopefully that would earn him a little more trust, and hopefully he wouldn't have to fight off any demons tonight.
Josiah was pleased, at least a little. This boy seemed to be a little intimated by him, one would didn't want to upset him. And he seemed to have Lizzy's interests at heart. At the moment. That certainly didn't mean that he wasn't going to be watching him. Very closely. Especially around his daughter. His daughter who was currently giving him a look. Lizzy kissed both her parents on the cheek and moved towards the door with Liam.
Once they were outside, she glanced over at him, blushing. "I'm sorry about that. My dad is pretty protective of me. So is my brother." She was the oldest girl, but since Jocelyn wasn't in danger of dating anyone any time soon, they worried about her. And this was her first date. She wasn't overly sure how to act. It was kind of nerve wracking and she felt butterflies in her stomach.
Of course Liam was thinking some pretty dirty thoughts about Lizzy, she was hot but that didn't mean he'd act on them. No, this girl was special and he wasn't going to trying anything unless he was absolutely sure she wouldn't push him away, slap him or look at him like he'd sprouted another head. With that in mind he shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans and gave her an awkward and slightly charming smile. "It's alright, I've dealt with fathers and brothers before," he said quietly, she looked nervous and he gave her a reassuring smile. Walking toward his car, Liam unlocked the passenger side door, closing it behind her once she'd climbed in. He ran around to the other side and slipped in. "So, um, where am I going again?" he asked with a little laugh, Liam was still getting used to the layout of the small town.
She smiled a bit more when he opened the door for her and slid into the passenger seat, looking over at him when he asked where to go. After giving him directions, she sat back and smoothed out her skirt. Of course someone like him had dealt with fathers and brothers before. She was soon to be eighteen and this was her first date ever. For a moment, she felt way out of her league on this. Lizzy bit her lip and glanced out her window as they were on their way, unsure of what happened next. Her fingers picked at invisible lint and her gaze returned to the cute boy sitting next to her. "I've been hearing mixed things about the movie," she offered.
The car started up without a problem and soon Liam was winding his way through the streets of Scarlet Oak, watching as people and houses passed by. "I was watching the trailer the other day, it looks pretty good," Liam paused for a minute. "We could go see something else, if you wanted?" For this girl, Liam would be willing to sit through a chick flick because he knew he probably wouldn't really pay attention to it. All his attention would be on her, but with Transformers 2 at least he'd have explosions and Megan Fox to distract him long enough to keep her out of his dirtier thoughts.
She shook her head, soft waves of hair falling about her face a little. Tucking it back, she smiled. "I've been looking forward to this. Plus, now my brother is expecting a report on the movie. Actually, both of them are." It was going to be much easier to talk to Elijah about the movie because he wouldn't care who she went with. Just if there were cool explosions and could she talk to Sai and Jace and see if they would take him. That she was sure of. But Lizzy was trying to focus on her date, not what would come later. "Oh, I almost forgot. I brought the book. It's been missing you a little," she said with a bright smile and a light laugh. It was cute that they had this little running joke.
Liam couldn't help but grin, he had been looking forward to tonight also. It wasn't everyday that you met a beautiful girl who seemed to be out of your league but still managed to accept your advances. Liam didn't think he was hideous, as a matter of fact he knew he was quite adorable, but Lizzy she was... she was something else entirely. "Me too and I don't think my brothers care much... at least I haven't talked to them about it." Looking thoughtful for a moment, Liam contemplated his older brothers, who also happened to include Bonnie, and whether or not they would want him rambling on about Transformers 2. "Oh really?" Liam glanced at her, a shy sort of smile on his face. "Well, now that I think about it... I guess I've kind of missed it too." Her smile nearly knocked the air out of his lungs and he laughed with her, relishing in the sound.
She looked down at her lap, grin wide on her face as they pulled into the parking lot. Still being nervous, she really wanted to be confident in the fact that he'd asked her out, picked her up, endured her father and still wanted to go out. It was just hard, given the fact that he was cute. He was funny. And she really, really liked those things about him. Grabbing her bag from the floor, she opened her door and waited for him to join her. "I think we can let it out after the movie. I like that it's just us right now." Smiling shyly, she tucked her hair back and smoothed out her outfit.
There was a lot Liam was willing to do for a beautiful girl and enduring overbearing family members was one of those things. It was a common occurrence, but he was good at playing innocent and sweet. Although Liam wasn't any of these. As he parked the car and took a half second to collect himself, before running around the other side of the car to meet Lizzy. "Me too, the book is just going to have to realize that sometimes we need to be alone." he said, smiling crookedly. "Shall we?" Placing a hand on the small of her back, Liam lead her to the theatre, his heart speeding up as he caught a drift of her perfume.
His hand at the small of her back was something she wasn't sure she knew how to react to, wasn't sure what to do. Lizzy found herself walking closer to him, hands in front of her. Was it too forward to wrap her arm around his waist? Her side brushed against his and she blushed a little. "It'll have to deal with it. Personally, I'd like to be a little selfish tonight." She looked over at him and smiled shyly, hoping she was doing this right.
The scent of her encroached on any rational thought Liam that didn't have to do with Lizzy, he had to fight to remember where he was going. She felt small and warm beside him, licking his lips he tried to think about anything other than her in various states of undress. That probably wasn't a good idea. Clearing his throat he stared looked down at her and blushed when another little waft of her perfume invaded his senses. "Um, yeah," he said trying to force his eyes to stay open. She seemed to undress behind his eyes. "I-I don't think it'll mind t-to much."
They stood in line at the ticket counter and Lizzy was ready to pay. She had been more than a little prepared for this date, having enough money to cover anything she should want to get. It wasn't polite to assume that because he was the guy, he'd pay. Even if, secretly, she was hoping he'd pay and make this even more date like. Lizzy had fantasies about what her first date would be like and this was turning out rather nicely. She looked up at him, smiling, before she took in the look on his face. "You okay?" she asked, putting her small hand on his chest. His was on the small of her back; it was only fair.
"Um, yeah," Liam said, nodding his head and clearing his throat. "I'm great, a-are you okay?" The warmth of her small hand on his chest wasn't helping his current thought process, but he pushed through the haze and kept his mind on things like not leaning and kissing her. Or touching her body in anyway, which reminded him to remove his hand from the small of her back. Pulling his hand away a little faster than he intended, Liam went for his wallet as a sort of cover. It was expected that he pay and Liam didn't really mind, in fact he preferred to pay. She didn't seem like the type of girl you went dutch with, even if she was willing to pay. "Two please," he said, pulling out money and sliding it to the person behind the plexiglass.
She didn't like the fact that he'd pulled away from her and moved her hand. Clearly, she'd done something wrong but she smiled at him when he got their tickets. "Are you sure?" she asked, wanting to confirm with him. "I can get snacks, if that works for you." Lizzy didn't mind, at least contributing something to this date other than her presence. And her suggestion for the movie. It was nice that he'd paid for the tickets, the way she'd always figured her date would but still, she wanted to be a 'modern woman' or something like that. But she was too in love with romantic notions of being swept off her feet and all that.
Immediately he knew that he'd made a mistake pulling his hand away to too fast, the look on her face told him so. Liam smiled though and nodded his head. "Completely fine, honest," a slight blush across his face. "No, no. I can get it-- I want to get it," Not that he needed to prove that he could, but that he genuinely wanted to pay for her. A sort of old fashioned gesture. She could pay, and he wold let her, but he wanted to pay for her.
Lizzy smiled and waited for him to finish paying for the tickets. They headed inside and she stayed close to him. There were lots of people out for a Monday night. After getting bumped a little, she slipped her hand in his, keeping herself even closer to Liam's body. He had a nice body and she really liked how it felt when she was close to him. "Maybe we could just get a couple snacks? Since we're gonna try to go to dinner later?"
A little stunned when her hand grasped his, Liam smiled and held it firmly in his own. It stirred a warmth in his chest that he decided to ignore until he was ready to figure out what the hell it was all about and he when wasn't pressed against Lizzy. Her smell was overpowering and he found himself smiling vaguely as he filed it away in his mind, the feel of her smaller body against his was something he didn't spend to much time thinking about. "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea." Their hands still entwined, Liam lead her to the line up for snacks, giving her a smile. "So, what are you thinking of doing this September?" He sincerely hoped she wouldn't be going away for school and he hoped that he and his brothers wouldn't be leaving soon either.
She liked holding his hand and she smiled back at him when he didn't let go. "I'm going to U of M. Still going to be living at home too." Maybe down the line she would get an apartment or something, but she was happy to spend her freshman year still living in her home. Didn't bother her at all. Reaching over, she rested her other hand on his arm for a moment, moving out of someone's way as they got to the front of the line. "What about you?" Had he asked because he was hoping she was going to be around? That was a thought she liked.
All this physical contact was only making it harder for Liam to really focus on their conversation and anything that wasn't Lizzy. "Really? Great, I mean, I'm glad you're staying in Michigan," There was a blush trying to creep up his face, but he smiled and turned away, shrugging one shoulder. A shy kind of gesture. Liam didn't really know how to answer her question and he really, really didn't want to lie to her. "Well... um, I dunno yet. Just taking a year off. Don't want to rush into school, ya know?" In actuality, Liam hadn't really thought about post secondary education. He and his siblings didn't really need higher education to get what they wanted or needed.
Taking a year off. She didn't think any less of him. Heck, her big brother hadn't gone. It really wasn't for everyone. "You have tons of time to figure it all out." Lizzy smiled and looked at the candy below the glass on the counter. "What kind of snack do you usually get at the movies?" she asked, curious to find out more about the boy she was on a date with. The little things that she wanted to know about. His favorite color. What he liked to do when he was bored. Then again, she was also curious what it would be like to kiss him, but she was trying to avoid dwelling on that thought.
Nodding his head, Liam looked down at her. "Yeah, I know. I don't have a whole lot of pressure at home to go to school, so taking a year off sounded like a good idea." Liam didn't like thinking too far into the future, he liked just going with the flow. It made life less complicated and stressful. Peering through the glass at the candy he pointed to a bag of cherry twizzlers. "Every time," Liam answered with a smile. "What about you?" For a split second he was about to say 'beautiful' but he didn't want to seem to eager, he had to play it cool tonight. Even though it was the truth and he's said it before, Liam wanted to take it slow. He didn't want to scare her off.
Right next to his candy of choice was her's. "Junior Mints. Every time." Lizzy smiled up at him as the cashier pulled out one of both candies. After their snacks were paid for, they moved to the theater and found two seats, thankfully together. She sat down in a seat that had the arm up and she didn't do anything about putting that arm down. No, she very much so liked the idea of sitting next to him with no arm rest between them. She looked up at him and waited for him to join her. This was going to be a good movie.
Liam was slightly impressed with her choice, he was a Junior Mints fan himself and if they didn't have twizzlers (god help them) he'd settle on Junoir Mints. "Nice choice," he said with a shy little smile, his hand still clasping hers. When he had reluctantly pulled his hands from hers momentarily to pay for their snacks, Liam could feel himself oblivious to the fact that they were at a movie theatre. There was a moment of joy when he noticed the arm was up and he watched as she noticed and didn't do anything about it, he smiled to himself and sat down beside her.
While she didn't exactly cuddle right up to him, she did shift a little closer. As she did so the lights went down. "Perfect timing," she whispered to him as the previews started. The trailers were fun but she was looking forward to the movie itself. And, of course, her company. Being that there was no cup holder between them, she neatly opened their candies and held them in her lap. She looked over at him and shifted a little closer, her leg brushing against his. "This okay?" she whispered softly.
Swallowing hard as she moved her body in closer to his, Liam had to take a calming breath. She was fully in his space now and he could smell the flowery scent of her perfume and the feel the muted heat of her body. "No, yeah... i-it's fine." He said a little quietly, his brain was working hard to keep from pulling her closer and just sort of making out with her. These teenage hormones could be a bitch sometimes. He took a deep breath, focused on the pictures on the screen and let her sidle in closer. "Did you like the first one?" he asked, just so he could focus on things other than her body pressed against his. It seemed a little forward to wrap an arm around her, but he really, really wanted to.
"It wasn't bad. I just hate that there are so many trailers. I just want to watch the movie." She turned to him and smiled in the darkness. Yes, thanks to her father and older brother, she was a little bit of a closet nerd. Lizzy didn't care and Liam didn't seem to mind either. Her purse, book tucked safely inside, was against the arm rest on her opposite and she was very comfortable against him. "What did you think?"
Personally, Liam had always enjoyed the trailers; he liked knowing what was coming out and if they looked good or not. He shrugged his shoulders and resisted the urge to wrap his arm around her again, that was either going to have to fuck off or he was going to have to do it, he couldn't fight the urge all night. "I don't mind them so much, it's always good to see what's coming out," Readjusting himself so that she fit a little more snugly against him, Liam tried not to think to much about her body. "Oh, well, I was a die hard Transformer fan when I was a kid, so... I loved it." He grinned down at her in the dark, the light from the screen glinting off her eyes.
Lizzy flushed when he was talking. He'd meant the first movie. God, she felt stupid. "I... um... I thought you meant..." She bit her lip and looked at the screen as another trailer started. "I thought you meant the first trailer." He was making her nervous. "The first movie was really good. My brother and I always liked cartoons and stuff together when I was growing up. My mom gave me all sorts of books and my brother made sure I enjoyed stuff like this too." She tucked her hair back behind her ears, before looking up at him again, feeling a little foolish.
Hiding a smile, Liam had the sudden urge to kiss her softly. There wasn't any need to feel embarrassed, he was aware now that it probably would have sounded like he was talking about the first trailer. "It's okay, really, I'm sorry." Damn it, this girl was getting to him slowly and if he wasn't so focused on trying not to touch her inapproriately, he'd probably be a little concerned. The face she made was, for lack of a better word, cute and Liam was going to have to try erase that word from his vocabulary now. The impulse he'd been trying to hold back broke and Liam wrapped his arm around Lizzy, he didn't even notice it until it was too late. "I-I'm sorry." he said, trying to pull his arm back as a blush crept up his face.
He was trying to make her feel better and his arm was around her and she did. "Don't be," she said softly, hand reaching up to keep his arm around her. "I like it." Leaning over in the semi-darkness, she kissed his cheek. "You shouldn't apologize for my misunderstanding." Lizzy snuggled into his side a little. This felt good and she watched as the last trailer finally dissolved into the warnings about cell phone usage in the theater. This felt good.
The smile that spread across his face really couldn't have been helped, neither could the blush as she kissed his cheek. Liam shook his head slightly to try and retain some kind of masculinity. Holding her body closer to his, he didn't need to worry now about not touching her or the fact that he liked the way she smelled a little to much. He was currently placated and his hormones were settling down enough for him to think freely. "Cool," was all he managed, pulling her tighter to him and settling in to watch the movie.
Smiling, she settled in to watch the movie. It started and she laughed at Bumblebee. When she was a kid, she totally wanted to have a car like Bumblebee. Not that she had admitted that to anyone other than her journal. Megan Fox was pretty but Lizzy wasn't sure how much she liked her. Glancing over at Liam, she saw how much he was enjoying it. This had been a good idea and she really liked how it felt to have his arm around her. Nestled against him, she held out the Twizzlers and smiled at him in the darkness.
With a fuzzy feeling and a large smile, Liam sat back into his seat and cut his attention between watching the screen and Lizzy's face. Although he wasn't in the first movie, Liam was partial to Sideswipe, a badass Lamborghini from the cartoon and when he appeared on screen he had to hold back all the childhood glee he felt at seeing him. Pulling a Twizzler from the bag and grinning down at her, he munched away happily. There wasn't much from his hormones for the remaining part of the movie or even dinner, which hadn't been as awkward as he thought it would be. As stated, Liam paid for her willingly and happily, opening and closing doors for her. It seemed a little old fashioned, but Liam thought it was pretty damn classy to open doors for a girl. The ride home was peppered with conversation but there was no denying the tension that clung around them, the buzz of teenage hormones filled the cabin of his car. All he really wanted to do now, though, was lean over and kiss her, but he refrained and put the car in park in front of her house. "I had fun tonight," he said honestly, turning his head to look at her.
The whole evening had been perfect. She loved every minute of it. The movie was great. She laughed a lot and really liked being with him. He was sweet, paying for dinner, holding doors. Lizzy was a fan of old fashioned things. She loved the idea of being swept off her feet, of being out with someone who seemed to want to be a gentleman. All too soon they were at her house again and she didn't want to get out of the car. Not yet. The entire drive home, she wanted to hold his hand, to have him lean over and brush his lips over hers. Turning to him, she unbuckled her seat belt and smiled. "I did too. It was really nice." She shifted in her seat, not really moving to get out of the car just yet.
For the first time in a really long time, Liam had actually had a lot of fun on a date. Usually they were extremely awkward and he ended up getting bored with the girl half-way through, ending in him trying to get into their pants. Sometimes it happened, sometimes it didn't. This date though? This was different, he liked Lizzy, actually liked her and that was kind of new. There had been others girls he liked, ones he'd pulled out all the stops for, but this girl was different and he hated to admit it to himself, but he wanted more from her. Which was why he was currently sitting awkward in his seat, debating whether or not to lean over and kiss her. Surely that fact that she'd shifted in her seat and not gotten out of her seat was a sign that she was waiting for the inevitable good night kiss. Mouth or cheek, was the real answer. Leaning in slowly, Liam decided she could make the final move.
He leaned in and she smiled. Liam was sweet and she leaned in too. This felt right, good to her and she brushed her lips over his, cupping his cheek. Lizzy liked kissing him. What this was going to be, she wasn't completely sure, but she couldn't wait to find out. She was glad to have gotten that book, that he suggested sharing. It was sweet and something that was different, something she liked. After a long moment, she pulled back, smiling and not moving that far from him. "I liked that," she whispered softly. Her first kiss. It had been perfect. "Can we do that again?" she with a soft smile.
Leaning in for a kiss was a dangerous thing, the girl could always pull back and leave, which would have a) seriously wounded his pride and b) seriously--kind of, sort of-- his heart. It wasn't that he was in love with her, but he did really, really like her and that hadn't happened in a while. If he'd had any idea that this was her first date, kiss... her first everything, Liam would have been a little more nervous, but he wasn't. Instead he rested one hand on her shoulder and shuffled a little closer to her as they kissed. It was a little slow and soft, tame, but he didn't mind. He was kissing Lizzy, the most gorgeous girl he'd seen in ages. Hands down. Score. Tilting back he gave her a goofy smile. "Me too," he whispered hoarsely, looking at her with that same smile. Nodding his head he cupped her neck and gently pulled her in for another kiss.
When he pulled her in again, she smiled against his lips before kissing him back, lips parting a touch as she did so. Lizzy was pretty sure his goofy little grin was one of the things she really liked about him. It was endearing. Her hand moved from his cheek to his neck, fingers slipping through his hair a little, enjoying the moment. And boy, did it feel good. When she finally pulled back, she didn't move far again. "I guess this means we can have another date?" she said, smile still on her lips. Though there was no reason for him to say no, there was still a tiny part of her that was afraid of that happening, though she didn't say anything to him about it, obviously, since she was still waiting for his answer. God, he made her nervous.
Lizzy's lips were soft and sweet from the lipgloss she wore. Liam could feel the thrum of excitement flare up in his abdomen and he knew he'd have to pull back soon unless he wanted to embarrass the hell out of himself and possibly her. It took all of his conscious effort not to let his hand slip down and cup her breast, that wasn't exactly first date etiquette and he wasn't sure he wanted to push his luck with her. Besides that he didn't want to rush this. Liam smiled at her and nodded again. "Of course," he pulled back slowly again, not really taking his eyes off her. He definitely wanted to do more of that. "When are you free?" Liam was basically always free, which would have been sad if he cared at all.
She smiled softly at him. "I work tomorrow night and the next morning, but I'm off the day after." Lizzy liked the idea of them going out again. Of spending time with him. She cupped his cheek, thumb brushing against his cheek bone. After a moment, she dropped her hand. God, this had been perfect and she absolutely loved it. Every minute of it. Her first date ever. It was something she'd write about in her journal, undoubtably. "What about you?" They could figure out there where after the when. That was more important.
That smile, he knew, was going to the death of him somehow. It made him smile and that just wasn't Liam, now her hold on him was kind of disconcerting. He chalked it up to teenage hormones and let it be, thinking about it would just fuck everything up and Liam didn't want to do that. Ignore the feelings and go with his instincts, it never failed him before. He frowned slightly as he realized that her schedule wasn't nearly as open as his was, maybe he should start trying to make friends. The thought amused him, but he kept it off his face and merely smiled at her crookedly. "I'm free then too," he said quietly, his voice a little hoarse.
"Good." She was happy he was free too, worried that he'd have some other obligation that would keep them from having their second date. "We can figure out what to do later, but maybe we can spend a little more time together?" The evening was nice, but she would have much rather spent a larger chunk of time with him. Of course, they could figure it out later. Right now, she was on cloud nine and she definitely didn't want to come down. "Will you walk me to the door?" she asked softly, not wanting this to end but she knew it had to and she was secretly hoping she'd get one more kiss out of the date before it was over.
He grinned, beside himself at the prospect of seeing her again and being able to kiss her. "Definitely," he answered easily. Liam was trying to play it cool, he didn't really want her to know how much he liked her and he stayed relatively quiet, instead her gave her smiles, rather than more animated sentences. He was reluctant to pull himself from her and the car, but he had to get her home, lest he feel the rather of an angry father. Nodding, Liam extracted himself from the car and ran around quickly to open the door for her. "M'lady," he said with a wink, holding out his hand for her to grasp.
Taking his hand, she beamed at him. It was impossible for her to hide how much fun she'd had. "Thank you, good sir," she said with a giggle. Oh, that was a perfect move in her opinion. They walked up the front walk and she kept her steps even, if a tad slow, drawing out this night. Glancing at the window, she was surprised she didn't see her father waiting for her. That was a good sign; it meant her mother had talked him down. Maybe next time Liam came to pick her up he'd be a little nicer. "Thank you," she said, turning to him at the door. "Tonight was really nice."
Weaving his fingers inbetween hers he tried to stop smiling, but it was in vain and instead walked slowly beside her with a big grin on his face. Her movements were slow and he tried to keep a half step behind her, Liam wanted this night to last a little longer a well, even is his body langauge didn't. Letting go of her hand a little reluctantly and falling behind as she continued on to the door, Liam smiled up at her. "No problem," shoving his hands in his pockets, he stood in front of her a tid shier than he was in the car. "It was, like, nothing... really." With confidence, he leaned in, stopping to give her a chance to pull back before kissing her lightly on the lips. "Night." Pulling back, he stood for a second before making his way backward to his car. A smile on his face he stopped a few feet before turning and running the rest of the way, he gave her one last wave before getting into his car.
