Hap's heart was up in his throat when the girl started coming down, though it eased away when he realized that she was moving really strange for a little girl. Yeah she was touching everything but it almost looked needless, like she could keep moving like that without them. What the... oh man, really? Hap liked ghosts, they were usually easier to get along with than breathing people and besides, but the way that this one was carrying herself and talking... he felt a stab of pity, especially at her question about telling her parents. This was definitely a ghost and she did not even seem to know that she was dead. That's the worst kind.
"Aw, no, I won't tell your parents," Hap informed her. That totally explained why there had been a niggling feeling right at the back of his mind. She could have fallen from up there and not been damaged at all because, well, she was already dead. "Unless you want me to talk to them for you or something... don't you think they'll be worried that you're not home?" Man, he had never dealt with a kid who didn't know they were dead.
