Leaning in a little, Fable took the girl's wrist and examined each charm as Kristen pointed them out. "Sounds like you have a large family," she said, "something I can definitely relate to." Being one of ten kids wasn't always easy, but deep down Fable did love her big hippie family. It would have been easier if they had all loved Tim too, as much as Fable did.
She giggled, "Koala seems to be an appropriate nickname, at least in my book. Do you play soccer at all?" There were much worse things a family could do than play soccer together, or any game really. She looked over the stake, finding that it didn't seem to match up with the other charms on the bracelet, but shrugged it off. An inside joke Kristen had been too young for? Fable didn't know. Then Kristen got to the fairy, and Fable whistled under her breath. "Okay, so I think the fairy is now tied with the easel as my favorite," she said. "And why shouldn't fairies be real?" After all, if weres existed, like her little daughter sleeping upstairs, adding fairies to that didn't seem so out of place.
