Missy had promised that Kristen didn't have to go to daycare today, they'd made a deal and shook on it and then her sister had gone and forgotten to write a note so that Missy's art teacher knew to take her to the park, not Little Miracles. And no matter what she said, Kristen couldn't convince him otherwise so here she was. Again. With a bunch of kids who were either too young to play with or worse, her own size and her own age which meant she wouldn't get along with them anyhow. Besides, Kristen felt rather abandoned because she was doing something she hadn't thought she'd had to and it wasn't fair. This never would've happened if she was older.
So she'd settled herself down in an out of the way corner and made herself as unnoticeable as possible. Luckily she had her sketch book so Kristen had set about drawing a scene in the woods with a bunch of faeries. They were her favorites. Then she heard the sound of footsteps and winced a little before realizing it was just Ms. Fable, one of the daycare workers, and glanced up with a little shrug before displaying her drawing. "Working on another picture for my room," she explained. "Since I can't be at the park practicing I figure I might as well draw something happy."
